Greetings and salutations. Welcome to the town of Booksie. I will be your humble guide. My name is DarkFairy. The town of Booksie is unlike any other town you will find in the country of Internet. Here in Booksie you can express yourself freely through a variety of genres, writing styles and topics. Publishing your artistic pieces is completely free. Once published you will begin to get read, and commented on by fellow Booksians who come from all over our great country. These comments are positive signs for people to read, and lifts their mood on cloudy days. Though not everyone who reads your works may like it, but those who do may become fans. Through these fans friendships are made.
Look there, those two fellows talking to each other. The one on the right is Lionheart, to the left SynHawk. Two of my good friends and fans that I met here in Booksie. And the two girls sitting by the town well are AsNightFalls and missbritian101. They both wrote great, fantastic novels.
How did I come to find myself in Booksie you ask, well I'm glad you asked. I 'd be even happier to tell you.
It all began in my senior year of high school, the year being 2007. I was required to take an English course to graduate. I looked at my class choices and decided on a creative writing class. Hoping to improve my writing abilities. The year was half over and we were given the assignment of writing and publishing something we hadn't tried before. I thought to myself okay I've really only done poetry most of the year. My class was a hour and a half long, so had plenty of time to decide what I wanted to write.
At the end of class my decision was made. I'm a avid reader of the fantasy genre. The only problem was I couldn't think of a story line. As I walked home that day I came up with my novel Unwanted Destiny.
I began writing out my story. T here was one final thing left to do on my checklist for an 'A,' publishing my writing. Now I went through several hours of searching for towns and other such publishing places. What I found often were these towns were far away, as a result you had to pay to have your writing published. But I didn't want to have to pay for my 'A.' Finally I cam across the perfect town. Booksie.
I can happily say that Booksie has changed my life since I moved here. I have met great friends, received many supporting comments and fans and feel free to put whatever is on my mind in words, to share with my fellow Booksians.
Yes the town of Booksie is wonderful. Feel free to explore and broaden your horizons here in Booksie. Don't be afraid to introduce yourself to others first. One thing I've learned here in Booksie is that if you make your opinion known to someone by commenting on their works when they share it or tell them when visiting their homes, you will most likely get the same in return. Everyone is here for support and consulting. Stop by my house and let me know if your new in town and I'll pay you a visit and maybe more, if I really like what I read.
Welcome once again to Booksie. I hope you prosper in all that you do here, no matter how long your stay may be.
~DarkFairy~
