It’s Mum 55 (Juliet)
Just a short story of how I started on Booksie and how it has changed my life!
Hi Folks well I owe a lot to Booksie and all you co writers, I am a mature lady and this is how I became part of this large writing family,
Paul (Half chewed pen) my nephew came to stay last August.
I of cause was off work having had a car accident, never really thought about writing only in my youth!
Paul told my son (Bing nkc) Neil about the site I was just chilling on the sofa,
Neil decided to post some of his poetry he had written while in his last year of school.
Paul went off to see his mum in Wales and while he was away I started to think about my Daughter and her life and how it affected me, so put pen to paper and wrote about her in between the tears of cause and how her life gave me so much love.
Paul came to see us again and I read him what I had written about Samantha and asked him if I should place it on Booksie, I was so nervous knowing lots of people may read this small part of my life, still I posted her small story I had written and hoped others might understand about her life, then after that I spent most of my days reading others budding writers stories and poetry.
Life since then has been great I have conversed with so many of you made so many friends. Booksie has given me a way of letting past emotions flow in poetry, and ventured into feelings that you keep locked away. It has made me venture into all different aspects of writing, and I love the suggestions sometimes, especially the one from Katie (Air) that’s where wishing land came from, it was hard work and took me two weeks of writing and thinking it was great.
The only sad thing is I had to return to part time work so now my time with Booksie is limited but I still every chance I get read all your poems and stories, for Booksie may be a writing web but to me it’s a second family, which is always growing with young budding writers of our future, it gives us all a chance to explore our thoughts past and present, our sorrow our happiness and most of all our friend ship.
So I thank all of you for being there to read my stories and poetry and of cause all of your comments, which keep me going.
I sometimes think one day a famous writer will be born all through the Booksie web site who have given all of us the chance to express ourselves and learn from each other, for it does not matter weather you are young or old there is a place for everyone on Booksie.
It changed my life and I hope it changes yours too, for with out it now what would we do?
