Lets see… It all started back in the seventh grade, when we started our poetry unit for an English class. Now, for some of you this may be hard to believe, but back then I hated poetry. I hated every little thing about it. During the year, we were assigned a student teacher, his name was Scott Brown, or Mr. Brown. (Yes, that ACTUALLY is his name, I am not just making it up!) He hated me and one of my friends, we would always annoy him to death and back again. The other thing he hated about me in specific, was that I hated poetry, so he dedicated himself to showing me how wonderful it was! Well, to a 13 year old, that was annoying… Have you ever had a teacher trying to teach you outside of class? Do you know how embarrassing that is?!?! Well, anyway, He tried to get me to become interested in reading it… that didn’t work too well… I didn’t like to read poetry, what was the point? You couldn’t understand what half of them were saying! Have you ever read the poem Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll? That has to be one of the most nonsensical poems ever written! Ugh! It took me forever to read it… despite this however…It was the poem that got me hooked on poetry… I decided that, as good as I was {Puffs out chest all proud-like} I could write one better then Jabberwocky! Though I soon learned, {deflates like a popped balloon} That no one could best Jabberwocky… Though I did continue writing, I don’t think Mr. Brown ever did find out that because of him, I became the poet I like to think myself as being today. {I have quite the ego don’t I? Fancying myself a poet…}
If we skip ahead into my Freshman year in High school [Which happens to be last year L] we will see how Booksie plays into all of this. I was sitting in front of my manly typing thingy [Ok, it’s a lame old computer…] one day and I came across a site called Poetry.com, now, that site was good and all, but I wanted more. For those of you who don’t know, poetry.com is just a place to enter contests and post work… nothing else… at all… No comments, or fans or comments, friends, or comments! Come on, how boring is that?!?!? So, I looked through all the sites but couldn’t find a single one I liked…. So I switched back to Poetry.com. While surfing the blank pages, I saw a link at the top of the page! A link!!! I couldn’t believe it! An actual link for Booksie! It was so amazing I could barely breathe… Ok not really, but it was amazing! As soon as I clicked the button, I instantly liked what I saw… COMMENTS!!! I was so excited, I signed up right away! J I mean, have you ever seen so many comments?!?!? Well, as soon as I was settled, I posted a single poem. Two days later… I checked my page, and sure enough! COMMENTS!!! After a while, I started to look through others works, where I met the energetic, angry, Australian teen boy who loved to write about death. Reaper. He was one of my first fans, and my first friend to be made in the village of Booksie. If you look at him now, he is changed… he no longer writes all about death, he said so himself! And if I may have the right to say, his grammar has improved tremendously! Anyhow, There were others I met as well…
Narduchil: A helpful fantasy fan {Like me!} Who helped me with my novel Destiny’s Choice even if he doesn’t know it!
FunnnyBunny: The most patient and tolerant person EVER! {She even encouraged my insane commenting skills!}
Lionheart: The funniest guy in the WORLD! Have you ever read his “Lionheart says”???
Ladyfantasy: Who is a GREAT writer! {I couldn’t stop reading her first novel! It sucked me in like an evil vortex!}
Trainman238: A guy I know personally who encourages me to finish my novel even when I don’t feel like it. {Which happens to be A LOT}
And Robert Storm: An amazing horror writer who likes my style of writing {Which is odd, since none of it is horror! J}
And not to mention anyone else I forgot to list!!!
Ok, before I faint from lack of air, I shall stop rambling and let you finish your tour of The Booksie village!
