Chapter 1 - FunnyBunny

Carly jerked awake.  Sweat was dripping from her body as she awoke from another awful nightmare.  Her whole body shook from fright.  She looked down at her sleeping husband, Edward.  His curly black hair framed his strong, handsome face.  His full lips twitched in his sleep and he sighed. 

Carly got up and went to the bathroom.  She splashed some cold water on her face in an attempt to wake up.  These dreams made her so tired.  She didn’t even want to go to sleep anymore.  Her body was tired.  She looked in the mirror and stared at herself.  Her red hair hung loose unto her shoulders framing her delicate face.  Her green eyes stood out against her pale skin.  People always admired her for her beauty.  She never had a lack of attention.  She used to take pride on her appearance.  She cared for her skin. She didn’t smoke, drank plenty of water and avoided alcohol.  Her petite body was kept in shape by her Personal Trainer, Tony, and with the help of a very effective diet. 

She put her hands on her flat tummy and sighed.  Edward wanted children and she didn’t. They have been married for two wonderful years but he was slowly pushing her into starting a family.  She wasn’t ready yet.  She couldn’t bring a child into this world with her secret hanging over her.  It wouldn’t be fair.  Not even Edward knew.  He was her soul mate and very best friend but if he knew the truth, he would never forgive her.  Their perfect life would be destroyed.

She walked back to bed and climbed in between the silk sheets.  Carly put her arm around her husband’s toned body and breathed in his scent.

“Babes, how about some more coffee” Edward purred at his wife.

Carly got the pot and refilled her husband’s cup and gave him a kiss on the head. “Easy Tiger.  I don’t want you on caffeine high for the rest of the day.  You have patients who depend on you.”

Edward chuckled and grabbed Carly around her tiny waist.  He gently put her on his lap and kissed her softly while stroking her soft hair. 

“Mmm, you smell good, Babe” he whispered.

Carly responded by turning around and kissing him.  Oh how she loved him! He still drove her crazy when he touched her. 

Beep Beep

“Aww come on” Carly sighed.

Edward took his beeper from the counter. “It’s the hospital, Babe. I have to go.  But we’ll definitely continue this tonight.” He ruffled her hair and got his keys and jacket.

Carly looked at Edward and her heart leaped in her chest.  He was so handsome and caring.  She took in his tight little bottom and broad shoulders.  She could easily stay in bed with him for the rest of her life. 

“I’ll see you later, Babe.  I love you” he said and gave her a little slap on her behind.

“Love you, Hon” she said and watched him leave.

The guilt was eating her from inside.  She couldn’t take it anymore.  The truth is going to come out sooner or later.  She just didn’t know what is the best.  Just to be upfront and tell him or wait until the bomb hits.  Then she could explain.  All the possibilities mulled around in her head.  She was going nuts.  Her mind wasn’t her own anymore.

She got up with a sigh and got her coat and car keys.  She was late for work.

Edward entered the kitchen and took in the smell of freshly baked cookies.  His wife was a miracle.  She ran an Art Gallery and had so many social events but she still found the time to bake him cookies.  Carly was bent over by the oven.  A smile crept to his lips while he watched her.  She was so small and delicate.  He was tall and toned but she fits into his arms like she was molded there.

He snuck up from behind and kissed her neck while putting his arms around her.  Carly could feel his need for her.  Her breath quickened and she turned around in his embrace.  She threw her arms around his neck and kissed him with all she had.  He gently lifted her into his arms and carried her to their room.  He put her on the bed and started unwrapping her like a present while whispering to her. 

Carly couldn’t take it anymore.  She needed him.  She savored his touch and she let him love her like only he could.

She loved this man more than life itself.  But just like always, the guilt started nagging at her.  Carly let Edward continue his loving but her mind wasn’t on their lovemaking.  It was whirling around the lie that could destroy her life.
