We were just walking down the path, holding hands like we always do when all of a sudden out of the blue, Alex talks. Usually you can't get her to stop unless we are on this walk or in the field, because all we do is listen, and make out sometimes, ok often.
"Yeah" I said.
"Why do you live and work for my aunt?" she asked.
"I am trying to pay for college," I replied looking at her then looking where I was going.
"Ya but why do you live with my aunt?" She asked again but this time I got it.
"Well my parents died when I was really young, so I went to live with my uncle who was going out with Jenna at the time. She gave me a job."
"Where is you uncle now?"
"I don't know, one night he was there, next morning he wasn't"
"I'm sorry," I pulled on his arm to get him to stop walking and hugged him.
"It's okay, I barely knew him really."
The rest of the walk we were silent, i think that little talk might have made it a little awkward. It only took us a few more minutes to arrive at the field. We walked to approximately the middle and lay down where the hay had already been flattened from us lieing there.
