Lucius was hanging out in his dorm re-dying his hair to its original jet black color and has just texted Sheamus to get over there so he could ask him if he would like to join him over winter break in visiting his family. Though he is aware they are anti-everything, he felt it was a good year to introduce them to his boyfriend considering they have been together 3 months already. He felt a bit anxious, as his older brother had had a solid girlfriend for 2 years, and he was the crown jewel of the family, having had gone to law school and graduated in honors with job offers. He felt that the job offer didn't count when your own father offers. Anyway, this can't be any different. They had always wanted him in a relationship, and here it is motherfuckers. Though, maybe he could help the situation by changing his hair a bit...they never liked his hair…
Sheamus sat on his bed, looking up at the ceiling. Though he wasn't entirely sure what he was waiting for, he had this strange sensation deep in his gut that something was going to happen. It wasn't like it was a bad feeling or anything. Not even close to that. It was like that anxious feeling before you ride a roller coaster. Like he was waiting for the karts to return. You know what's coming but you don't know if you like it or not. He looked over at the little bedside table that had been provided for him to see his phone buzzing. He cheap little clamshell danced around as he looked at the name. His eyes widened with a tinge of excitement to seen the digital words, "Lucius <3: New Text Message (1)", which to be honest, made his feel kinda fluttery inside. He hated being that fluttery person. He picked up the phone, reading the message, fixing his glasses so it read clearer.
He finished dying his hair, drying it off and blowing it dry, then threw on some red kicks. He hoped Sheamus had seen his message because he was about twenty minutes late. He opened the door, turning around and locking it, then knocked on Sheamus's dorm door.
"Shea? You here?" he called.
Sheamus sat up quickly, flicking his phone open and swapping glances between the door and the screen.
"Going to see my parents 4 the holidays"
"You wanna tag along?"
Sheamus might have either had his heart stop right where he stood, or it was beating at light speed. Either was really a possibility. He had nothing on and wasn't even close to ready. He was sitting there all day lying around and not even bothering to think about getting ready. He ran his fingers through his hair, texting him back as fast as he could, but messing shit up from stumbling to get ready.
"Hey. I'd love to! Just getting ready! ;F"
Lucius checked his phone, sighing a bit. At least he wanted to come, that was a bonus, but he was running really late. It doesn't matter anymore after a bit of thought. He was probably in the nude. He had once walked in on him sleeping like that, though he better keep it a secret. It would make him insecure for months. He sat down next to the dorm door, texting back.
"put on something nice"
Sheamus noticed the alert and ran up to his closet. He hadn't even showered yet! Stupid bloody hell time why can't there be more of it. He ran back into the bathroom and grabbed his toothbrush, panting a tad from all of the running. He hopped in the shower and started multitasking, brushing his teeth as he turned on the water. He knew that Lucius was late. He didn't need rocket science or calculus to figure that out. He knew that he was just that kind of person who disregarded time. It's not a bad trait.
Shea just wanted to make a good impression is all. Oh dear sweet merciful god he praises who isn't named yet. He was going to meet Lucius's parents. He brushed vigorously, plotting out how to introduce himself, grabbing a bottle of shampoo and dumping a shit ton all over himself. He regrettably...forgot to remove his underwear. No time for it now. Just get the fuck clean.
Lucius waited outside, tapping his foot a bit. He should have asked yesterday, but he was so busy with finals. He should really take Sheamus out to dinner or something nice. Like a real date. With flowers and gluten free food, even if he was allergic to flowers. He gave the door another knock.
He let out a slight murmuring, foam filled noise that might have been a response. He couldn't really talk too well with a mouth full of foamy mint. He spat at the drain and took a quick breathe, scrubbing himself quickly to wash the suds away. God he felt so dirty. Even though he showered last night and would no doubt have survived today without one, he needed to get spiffy. As he peeked his head out of the curtain to deliver a more proper response, he looked at the mirror. Shit that's an ugly stain. He really needs to get that thing cleaned. Oh...wait...that's him….erh…
"Come on in. Ill be right out, I promise!"
Lucius opened the door, walking in and taking a few looks around.
"Babe it's a mess in here...where are you anyway?"
.He sat down on the bed, wearing dress clothes and a tie. As he closely examined his apparel, he noticed that the tie was off, getting up and walking over to a little mirror on the door to the room. He adjusted it for quite a little bit of time, until feeling pleased with it. It was a tad bit off, maybe from being tied incorrectly, or just being put on wrong. It didn't really matter. His parents wouldn't banish him for it. Maybe. He walked back over to the bed with a light sigh as he crossed his legs politely.
Sheamus turned off the water when he felt satisfied with the cleanliness level he was at. He carefully stuck a leg out onto the bath mat and reached the other one out to follow. He shivered a bit and grabbed a towel, working his hair through it, his tail swishing with anxiousness. He looked up at the mirror, pulling the towel down and staring at himself. It was blurry. His glasses being in the other room didn't help at all. He would just have to deal. He grabbed his straightening wand and plugged it in, brushing tangles out of his hair as he waited for it to heat up. It would only be a minute or so. He grabbed the wand and carefully ran it through sections of his hair. It was hot as fuck, but got the job done. He heard a slight crackle that made him particularly nauseated. He was surely killing his hair.
"I'm so sorry, Lulu I'm going as fast as I can. I'm almost done!"
He tried to work a bit quicker, yelping as he burned his finger with his attempt to rush.
Lucius winced as he heard him yelp, getting up and walking closer to the bathroom door, just noticing he had his shoes on inside.
"Don't hurt yourself…I'm serious...don't…" he talked through the door.
He had no idea what he was doing, as his hair was straight and never seemed to do anything he didn't want it to. He sort of just left it as it is. His parents, when he was younger, would slick it back for him, so he looked like a 50's greaser. They loved it. Until he dyed it pink and left it. Oh, the looks. It was "hey cotton candy head" from his brother, and a bunch of "quit being so...different." from his mother and father. He felt happier though, so from the age thirteen and on, he started taking his own routes.
Sheamus stood in the bathroom for a minute more, letting his body fully dry as he finished the last few strands of hair. He had to straighten it or he would look like some weird Jamaican DJ. It would turn to tight curls, and then eventually look like dreadlocks. It was terrible. He slipped his towel off and dropped it into the laundry basket by the door, walking out and trotting over to his closet. He wasn't even aware that he was completely naked, and more likely just wasn't focused enough to acknowledge Lucius. He leaned over into his wardrobe and sifted through his clothing, a noticeable Black spot on his bottom. Oh dear god. It was a black dyed tramp stamp, which might be shaped like a heart. He got really drunk one night. He has no idea. He never even bothered to ask how.
Lucius stared at it for a long time, trying to muster a few words, but stuttering horribly. He looked away, wanting to respect him, but eventually blurted out. He thought it was nut sack before a heart.
"You got a thing on your butt. Well...like a tattoo really! Its...cool….um….you're nude babe…"
Sheamus heard this and brushed it off, sifting through the clothing. He slowly started to slow down and looked down at himself. Stark naked. He let out a loud squeak and slapped his hands on his ass, turning out to Lucius, his entire face red with embarrassment. This situation was only made more awkward as his gift from the heavenly unnamed lord that he believes in was now fully exposed. And it was a nice gift. Shit….that sure is a fucking gift. He immediately slapped his hand over his crotch and hid himself behind his wardrobe door, breathing loudly.
"OH MY GOD….OH…..NO WAIT I…..OH GOD…….oh my god I am so….so sorry…..I…..oh god I….."
Lucius face flushed a bit, and shook his head. He had so much to ask and say, but was holding so much back in respect. Respect. That's how'd he treat him. Yes. He was his first serious boyfriend. He'd do anything for him, anything. Love him for who he is no matter what, the promise his own parents couldn't keep...
"It's….its….its ok! Just...its ok...not your fault…!!" he stuttered, hiding his face.
Sheamus squeaked softly and stepped back a bit, finding some underwear to put on. Sadly he was so thin he couldn't fit into most adult men's clothing. If he would just fucking eat something then maybe this problem wouldn't be so consistent, but nonetheless, he had to buy panties. It's not like it was bad. It was just an easy target for being picked on. He tried to stay away from girly ones, but he did have several lacy ones, just because they came in the package. He grabbed onto the first pair he saw. Damnit, lacy. It doesn't matter. they were purple and would go with what he was wearing.
He peeked around the door of the wardrobe to see Lucius still covering his face. He felt his lips curl into a little grin as he spoke up.
"It's safe now…...and…..um……...thanks~..."
He was still sort of flustered, and was refraining from getting too aroused. Respect...respect….treat others how you would want to be treated...be...golden rule. Try not to think about this. Never mention Steve.
"You...you ready?" he asked, adjusting his pants and tucking it.
Sheamus stepped out from behind the wardrobe after a few minutes, dressed in a lovely purple vest and mostly grey everything else. His tie was also light purple, with good church slacks. He had a Christmas scarf that he had gotten at the mall flopped over his shoulder, smiling down at Lucius as he fixed the buttons on his sleeves. He felt like he was ready, he just needed to deodorize and he would be set. His phone was on the table next to his keys. Dont forget those. He walked over to his dresser and picked up his deodorant, slipping it under his shirt and giving it a rub. Excellent. Piney fresh and ready to meet some bigots! He turned back to Lucius and opened his arms.
"Well? How am I?", he asked tentatively.
He smiled widely, and that's all he can do, looking over him. It's like his pictures at Disneyland when he meet Peter Pan. Smiling stupidly, very happy, but looking nervous and awkward, but loving it. He really looked retarded in those pictures...or, at least that's what it says on the back. Peter Pan doesn't mind if you're gay. Hell, he lives on an island will all boys, if you don't count murderous Tinkerbell, who tried to kill Wendy.
"...g...great!" he softly mustered.
Sheamus looked at Lucius with a mite bit of concern. He was smiling but he didn't seem like he was ecstatic. Not that he was expecting a full on parade to celebrate his attire, but maybe just a more positive feeling out of him. He hoped he liked it. Was he going to make a bad impression?
He walked up to Lucius and looked down at his clothes, fiddling with them.
"I...I can change if….if you want me to…..I mean this isn't the best I got…." he said softly. He really didn't want to disappoint Lucius. He knew somewhat how his parents were, and if anything, he would need Extreme Makeover to fix his everything. He sighed a bit and looked down at the crack under his door, a couple voices outside slowly fading off down the hall.
"No...noo….you look like a Christmas Angel."
He kept looking over him, and got up to kiss his nose, hugging him close to him.
"...and a cute scarf to match…to bad the owner's cuter."
This wasn't helping his arousel but naked grandma helped. He took both his hands.
"Got everything before we head out? Hey, maybe if everything works out you can stay at my place for a bit!" He tried ending it on a lighter note.
Why does this guy always make him feel so beautiful on the inside. He felt that the gesture was intensely sweet, pecking a kiss on his cheek. He smiled when he heard that he might be able to stay with him. He knew getting along with his family was going to be a really tough challenge, but if it meant that he had a chance to show how good of a guy he could be, maybe Lucius's family might be cool with him!
"That would be amazin'!" Sheamus let out excitedly with a little pep in his feet. He smiled widely and couldn't help but start giggling. He was just feeling so happy holding Lucius's hands and being in his presence.
"That would be really amazin'..."
He nuzzled his nose against his, giving him a quick kiss. He was delighted that he wasn't, or didn't think he was, unhappy about going with him. He really wanted an entire month for quality time with his boyfriend. Maybe bed cuddles. That would be a Christmas eve heaven gift from god above. He took his hands and led him out, locking his door for him, then leading him out.
"Oh...remember that job I told you about…? I bought a new car with the money…"
Sheamus stammered on his feet a bit as they walked down the hall, approaching the elevator. A new car? When did that happen and why did he not see him bring it to the parking lot? He was pretty proud of Lucius to say the least. He didn't expect such maturity out of him. Guess he's a little bit of a late bloomer!
"Really?! That's awesome Lulu! What kind is it?....good mileage?"
Lucius scrunched up his face a bit, trying to remember. "Honda…? Dunno...brother's old car…" he sighed a bit, pushing the button to send them down.
"Good miles I guess. Whatever makes it go." he smiled a bit when he looked at Sheamus. Damn he was so cute. How in the world could he have deserved him? Luck. Or maybe his charm. He took a minute to pretend to be in a shaving cream commercial.
"Baby ass smoot- oh...um...we can leave the elevator now…"
Sheamus looked back at him, but hearing "Baby Ass Smooth", he flicked one of his ears a bit and gave him a stare of confusion. He took Lucius's hand and stepped out of the elevator with him, blushing a bit. Did he mean his ass? It wasn't that smooth was it? He continued out of the elevator up to the front sliding doors, waiting for them to open all the way before stepping out into the frozen winter air. His ears immediately flopped down, trying to avoid what felt like icy cold blasts of wind.
"Where might yah car be?", he asked curiously. He was genuinely curious to see if it was even stable enough to take them.
He takes off his own ear muffs and puts them over Shea's ears, warming his ears almost instantly.
"Here you go...and it's over there." he points over at a fairly good looking red honda, parked in one of the office spaces.
"....lets go quickly."
He walks him over to the car, making sure they don't slip on the frost. As they get closer, scratches and dents become more visible. There even is a little blurb carved into the door. It was pretty poorly written, resembling something that looked like "LOL". It was really hard to see, but nonetheless, still there. Along with that little piece of vandalism entailed a dent or two on the rear end of the truck, showing more age then abuse. It wasn't a bad vehicle for a first one. Far from.
Lucius squeezed Sheamus's hand a bit and opened the passenger seat door for him, bowing politely, as they were dressed so nicely.
Sheamus gave a goofy little curtsey to him and grabbed a hold on the door, pulling himself up into the truck and seating himself to avoid wrinkling his clothes. He slipped his hand over himself a couple times, taking the door and tugging it closed.
"All ready Lulu…..and...your truck is lovely~", he smiled.
He got in the drivers seat, slowly buckling up then sneaking a kiss with Shea.
"Surprise." he laughed a little, starting the car.
As soon as the car started up, a ginger aroma circled around the car along with a hint of baby formula. It seemed to cling to the scratched leather seats. He flicked the heat on, and there was a faint smell of cocoa. The entire car was like a warm, toasty oven that smelled fab. The windows, however, could not be rolled down, as there was no rolly-thingy-down stick and the button was jammed with a small lollipop.
"Well….at least it isn't cold…"
Sheamus smiled as he felt the brush of warmth drag across his body, making him shudder a bit. This was going to be an awesome car ride. The smells all felt rather contradictory to his nose, but as soon as he smelled the cocoa, he let out a soft exhalish moan, loving chocolate anything. His eyes closed for a moment to savor the smell as it wafted away with the heat.
Lucius was pretty damn sure his older brother, who couldn't know quality smells if it smacked him across the face and did a little dance under a sign that said quality smells, had jammed air fresheners into the heater. He was so...so...well, he was smart, but he lacked common sense. It's a car. You don't jam stuff into a car, especially a new one. He was so big headed and confident about himself, you'd get second hand embarrassment from just looking at him. He started to drive, heading from the city to more of a suburban town like area, where the snow had fallen thickly. It was everywhere, and even weighing down the tops of people's cars. Ah well, at least it wasn't as bad as the time they got baseball sized hail stones. What a painful school day that was.
"Almost there Shea~" he put a hand on his thigh, patting it a bit.
Sheamus smiled and laid his hand down on Lucius's, locking his fingers with his. He held on a little tightly. His hands were warm, the webbing between his fingers covering Lucius's like a mitten. He let his lips curl upward to a bashful smile, looking up through the window and raising an eyebrow. There was something in the road. It was dark and crossing the street, OH SHIT ITS A CAT!
He reached over and grabbed both of his hands on the steering wheel, giving the truck a quick swerve to dodge the cat, and managing to swerve back into place.
"HOLY F…..oh my God…." he let out a soft sigh, still clutching the wheel. He was white knuckling that shit.
Lucius gasped so hard he almost passed out, taking a hold of the wheel again.
"W...w….wow…." he mustered, turning the car around and parking it in the driveway of the most ugly green house they had ever seen. It was large, but looked more like an overgrown square squash. Vines crawled their way up the walls. Ugly fake flowers lined the pathway to the door. This place, anyone could vomit at the sight of it. There was a few cars parked near it, all the same ugly grey color.
He let out a soft sigh, looking up through the windshield and seeing the, traumatically green house of appalling visual construct. He didn't want to offend Lucius by making a face, but how could he not. It looked like a giant box of dog vomit. He tried to give a pleasant smile as he looked over at his boyfriend of three months.
"Well...its….in the "Christmas spirit...yes?"
"I know...no need to hide it...its bat shit ugly."
He opened up the car doors, letting him out, then holding his hand again as they walked up the pathway to the door. He took a deep breath. He was ready. Giving Sheamus's hand another squeeze he knocked on the door.
"Mother? Father?" he called, and a few voices could be heard from inside.
From the open window, you could see a long table with much food on it, including a large turkey in the middle of the table. No one sat around it.
His grip on Lucius's hand started to tighten more and more, not to the point of crushing it, but enough to get across how truly nervous he was. He definitely didn't want to start anything in his newly achieved boyfriend's home. Its terrifying him knowing how his family is. Please God that's not the same as his families God but is still a God in several rights, do not let him fuck this up. He could feel his heart throbbing as he whispered up to Lucius.
"I...oh God I don't think I can do this….." he spoke softly, letting his nerves take control of him.
He nuzzled him, kissing his cheek in an attempt to comfort him.
"They won't hate you...something feels different this year...besides, they'll be more interested in my brother's kid…" he coaxed, hugging him.
He really did hope his brother's newborn would take away all the attention. You can't hit people around a newborn for god's sake. He slowly knocked on the door again, and it creaked open a tad.
"Lets go babe…"
Sheamus's grip on his hand tightened even more than before, his head nodding gently as he reached out and gave the door a gentle push open. He took a deep breath and gestured his hand to Lucius. It was his house after all, and he was pretty sure his parents wouldn't want some stranger perusing around their home at random.
He blushed a bit. He was terrible at pet names.
Lucius nodded nervously and opened the door. The inside was just as ugly as the outside. Everything was a heinous grandma's house floral. Even the wooden floors. How do you even get floral on wood? A tall, well built man with a jet black goatee stood in the door to the living room. He was in a black dress suit and wore the expression of having scat under his nose. This, you could assume by the few white hairs on his head, was Lucius's father. He looked at Lucius first, smiling a bit, probably under the impression he had grown up and joined them. He glanced over at Sheamus, and his smile dropped.
"The taxi driver didn't have to come in." he gruffly said, folding his arms.
Shea's ears slowly drooped down, his eyes widening as he adjusted his glasses. His lips felt sewn shut, almost like he was too intimidated to let a word out. He wanted desperately to tell him he wasn't a taxi driver. Just say anything. Introduce yourself!
"...w...W….Well laddy doncha know Im noht tha taxee driver!" he said, quickly slapping his hands over his mouth. He had a thick accent, but where the fuck did that come from. He felt like one walking ball of stereotype. He called Lucius's father a "laddy". He was fucked, looking up at Lucius with a blushing face that read, "dear god I'm so fucking sorry…"
"....s...sorry sir…" he spoke softly, lowering his head.
He glared down at the both of them, then let out a hard, almost painfully jolly laugh, but it had a weird, cruel twist. He called into the living room in German, and the room burst out into laughter.
"You...you must be Luci's...room mate. Yes. Friend. You brought a friend over to a family dinner?" he gave them both another glare, then gestured for them to join him in the living room.
Sheamus looked over at Lulu with a slightly confused glare. He whispered through his teeth as they walked slowly behind his father.
"What does he mean friend?.....have you not told him yet?....."
Shea wasn't angry if he hadn't told. He just felt that the last thing his family was going to want to talk about was their homosexuality. Sooner or later it would come up. Oh god. He was getting that feeling in his gut again. Really anxious feelings were practically seeping out of his pores, his hair flattening and his tail curling between his legs.
As they entered the living room, about twenty people occupied it, all having the same jet black hair unless they where old and it had changed to white. The oldest man in the room was clutching a rather large cross and gaping at nothing. He looked blind and toothless. The mathematics professor was the most decent looking one in the room, if you don't count the baby in the center of the room. Everyone looked sunken, cold, and intimidating. They all stared at them enter the room.
"And here's my youngest very normal son….Lucius." his father announced, but it was very forced. "And his room mate...er...what's his name?"
Lucius looked up at him, having not said a word since entering the house. He was very pale now, whenever it be the lighting or himself. He gave Sheamus a look like 'for the love of god help me'.
Sheamus looked up at Lucius and took a deep breath, stepping forward and saying painfully, "I'm his friend...Sheamus Duncanson….He invited me to spend some time with his….lovely family…"
He put on the best smile he could, trying so hard not to spill everything in his mind out. He wondered if he was coming off as a bit of a kiss ass in some way. Some of his family members looked like they very well knew how shitty they were, but nevertheless he kept it up.
"It's...nice to meet you all…."
Lucius cleared his throat, and everyone immediately looked at him. He didn't say anything though, and a few of the other men in the room cleared their throats too.
"Well...sit then. Now." his father pulled up two chairs and pushed them down into them, then took to standing in the middle of the room.
"Now that everyone is here and accounted for, we may all assume the family gossip."
He then sat down next to a short, plump lady with blood red lipstick. She had her hair up in a loose bun and looked a bit kinder than most people in the room, but also looks as if she lost it a little. You could assume this would be Lucius's mother.
Sheamus grunted a bit as he was pushed into the chair, looking up at all of the family members who began whispering amongst each other. He looked over at Lucius, assuming this was pretty typical behavior in his home. He searched him for some answer, whispering to him.
"Are you okay?.....I don't know how much stallin' i can do Lulu…."
He sat there leaning into him and looking at him, hoping he would snap out of his miniature trance soon. He knew this wasn't exactly normal behavior for Lucius, and wanted to get some response. Anything would suffice.
Lucius took a small breath, preparing to answer, but then his father piped up and asked him, fairly loudly.
"How's Rachel, your girlfriend?"
Lucius stared back at him loathingly. He took a sideways glance at Sheamus, then gritted his teeth a bit.
"We broke up." he said, almost too calmly for the way he looked. A few of his relative looked over.
"Seeing someone else now, you know."
The entire room seemed to stop breathing, even the baby, but it was sleeping. His father narrowed his eyes.
Sheamus looked over at his father, eyes widening. He tried to think of some way to defuse the situation, maybe contriving something would work. He was terrible at lying. Wait. Idea. He looked over and smiled with a pleased look.
"But I set him up with someone! A real nice one sir!"
He turned to Lucius with a smile and gave a fairly smuggled wink. Technically he wasn't lying. He did set him up with someone. Himself. That doesn't constitute a lie, now does it?
"Really friendly too! Long hair...blue eyes...couldn't be here today though…"
He didn't really feel like he was here in the first place. He felt like hiding it made him somewhat of a fake. He looked at Lucius with a little less of a smile, but an understanding. He wouldn't want the family in an uproar.
"No…" Lucius said, looking into Sheamus's eyes.
"You got it all wrong….my girlfriend doesn't look like that...there's bright green eyes...and a cute face too...in fact...my girlfriend isn't even a girl at all….'
Everyone kept staring at them, and Lucius looked down a little. This would be his first time coming out to everyone, and he looked over at Shea for a bit of support with an 'I'm fuckin doing this' look.
Shea looked up at him and blushed, tugging him a little bit closer and whispering to him.
"Yah don't have tah do this Lulu….."
He really didn't want to pressure him into saying it. It was his life, and if he didn't want it to come out yet then that was his choice. He wanted what Lucius wanted. He could tell the rooms air was so thick you could cut it with a knife. He started to look around at all of the fairly silent family members who ceased to stop glaring at them both like they were some kind of freak show. He felt ready to burst out at them. Did they know? Did they have something to say?
He father then suddenly stood up and took both of them by the collars of their shirts.
"It seems as if the boys are being pranksters." He stiffly said, dragging them out into the hallway and shutting the living room door behind him. He then proceeded to hold Lucius to the wall with his hand on his throat. Lucius's feet dangled inches off the ground, and he gasped for breath.
"You hear me boy? In this house, you're just a no good piece of rat shit. That little incident we had there, you're gonna say it was a joke or I'm gonna whoop your ass."
Sheamus's eyes darted back and forth, panicking to decide what to do. He felt terrified. His boyfriend was pinned to a wall by what could only be thought of as a brutish monster. He wanted so badly to shove him off Lucius and scream at him, but no matter how hard he tried to make some movement, he couldn't move an inch. His first instinct was to just start breathing heavily. Act like you can't handle it. Distract him. Anything to get him away from Lucius. He started to pant louder and louder, making quite a scene of himself. He widened his eyes, his head actually feeling rather numb from all of the breathing in and out.
"L...Luci...Lu just...juss do wha he say……..do wha he says oka..a...ooooh my God…" he wheezed, hoping some sympathy would run through his father and the scene would cease.
Lucius tried nodding the best he could, and when he was understood he was dropped back to the floor. He landed on his knees, trying to make sure he wasn't gasping for air. Don't give him that pleasure. As he father gave him a rough pat on the shoulder, he grabbed a bottle of liquor from the shelf and headed back into the living room, and a few of the adults cheered.
"Shea...." he coughed.
He stood up using the wall and made his way over to him, taking his hand. That went a little better than expected. If you could say that. It was not much worse than the time he wanted to kill himself and his mother, his own frickin mother, offered to help him do it. That's it, last Christmas here ever.
"I...I'm sorry....I should've gone with your plan...but I didn't. l felt a moment's braveness instead..."
He squeezed his hand lightly, then looked back up at him.
"Want to....see my room? There's a lock on the door there."
Sheamus let his breathing pace slow back down, still huffing and puffing a tiny bit. He had never been so worried for someone in all of his life. What would he do if Lucius's father went on a rampage or something; elegantly shove him like a wussy. That's one of the only things that would come to his mind. Like it would work, him being a twig with arms. He felt Lucius's hand and tightened his hold, lip quivering some.
"...Okay...that...would be nice…."
His head held low, feeling guilty for making Lucius's take back what he said. It was only delaying the inevitable. They were all going to find out at some point, and whether or not they liked it. He leaned into Lucius defensively, locking fingers with him, their hands viced together.
"....and…..don't be sorry...okay?......"
"I can't help it..."
He sighed, waking him upstairs to a door the end of the hall, which was less ugly than downstairs. He opened the door with a key from his pocket and led Shea in. The room was closet sized, and had a small bed on one side and a window in the other.
Shea poked his head in through the door, taking a small step inside. This was all that his father had to give to him. A closet sized room hardly fit enough for an 8 year old? Shea was never one to brag about room size, but his was a little more spacious than this. At least when he lived in Scotland it was. He didn't grow up with much, but he had a good place to live, a loving family, and...well.
"Its...so small Lulu….."
He allowed Lucius more room to enter, looking up at him and fixing Lulus now jet black hair. He hated that color on him. Black. It was boring and wrong and made him look just like his father. That was not an upgrade to any extent. He wanted the pink and bright Lulu.
"I'm...sorry if I ruined yah...Christmas….."
He felt genuinely terrible. He felt like the reason his boyfriend couldn't be with his family for Christmas; Like if somehow he didn't show up with him they would all be completely different. They'd be nice and exchange gifts, and actually treat Lucius….right. It was either a facade of a dream, or a hope that might never get fulfilled, as this closet of a room only showed what the family's true feelings were to them both. "keep him in the closet".
"I really am…."
Lucius plopped down onto the bed, taking up about half of it. He looked out the window, then looked back at Sheamus, his hand gently grazing the sheets as to invite him over to sit. The sheets were old, and looked like they belonged to a little kid. They weren't old enough to be dusty, but it wasn't the most pleasant smell that arose when he pat the spot.
"It's not your fault....I brought you here..." He looked up as he spoke, hoping to lift that guilty face off of Shea's shoulders.
He patted the seat next to him, giving him a tired smile. He knew it was small. What didn't he know, he lived here for 17 years.
"Sit Shea Shea..."
Sheamus looked at the spot and stepped over by him, covering the lower half of his face with his scarf and scooting closer to Lulu. He let his head gaze out the window to try and see what he could look at, which also wasn't much to offer. He felt so cramped up in here, like he was in a can that was being shaken. He tried not to let it show on his face, but his body mannerisms showed discomfort. Just being in this room made him think of things he didn't like to think about. Like his dad. His father was never a good guy. But he was out of the picture half way through his life.
"Sheamus....you're really tense."
He tried moving so Shea could lay down, but it was hopeless. It was just too small to do anything. He should've felt sad, considering the previous events, but he wanted to scream and fight back instead. He forced the window open. It was difficult to do so, because the window was, or has been, bolted shut, but the bolts have been rusted so much they broke away easily.
"It's too stuffy in here...." He stuck his head out the window, then pulled it back in. Cold.
Sheamus remained where he was, looking up at the window. He reached out and took Lucius's hand gently and brought him back to the bed, sitting him down next to him. If anything would make this better it would be a hug. He reached his arms around Lucius slowly, pulling him in and laying his own head on Lulu's chest. He was not really the best hugger, coming from a family of bombastic, protective drunks who hardly let him swat at mosquitoes.
"...Lulu…...I'm glad yah let me come with yah…", he whispered gently. He was only slightly lying. He was really happy he got to come, but to some extent, he felt more sad then he did happy. This room, it was just….and his father just….not happy memories at all. He lifted his arms around Lulu's neck and gave him a little peck on the lips, tilting his head a bit to fix his glasses.
He smiled a little, leaning his head on Sheamus's shoulder. He stayed like that for while before piping up.
"We don't have to stay here, you know. We'll pack up and ditch this place, back to the dorms. We can still have a holiday there! No need to stay here..."
He knew they were both unhappy just by the feeling left in the air. If Shea wasn't around, he'd burst out crying, but as he had been told, crying solves nothing and makes you seem like a little bitch. Last part was the part his father had added on. He smiled weakly at Sheamus. Just a little nod and they'd be out.
Sheamus stared up at him for a moment, thinking about his offer to leave. YES, FUCK YES, PLEASE ANYTHING TO LEAVE THIS DEN OF HEINOUS HOMOPHOBIC LIONS. He started to brainstorm a bit as he gave an affirmative nod. Looking around this room made him want to scream and thrash and beg to leave. It was terrible. He found a little idea in his head...looking back over at Lucius. The holiday's?....What about his parents?
"Lulu...we...can leave if yah want…." He said quietly. He would talk about it tomorrow. His family traditions were weird, so there was plenty of time. He just wanted to go home and leave this...rather awful place.
Lucius thought about it for awhile. He did hate this place, but...not everyone was terrible to him. After awhile he came to the conclusion he wanted to spend the holidays with Sheamus and very little other people.
"Shea Shea....I wanna get out of here..." He whispered like they would be overheard.
Sheamus gave his head another nod. He could understand why he would want to leave so badly. He stood up calmly and pulled Lulu up with him, holding him in a tight hug. He really didn't want to let go this time, but the hug would just have to remain short lived if they wanted to get out of here any time soon. He started running his hands up and down Lulu's back in an attempt to give him some comfort before leaving.
"Lets go then." He whispered back quietly. Whatever he wanted, he would let him have. As long as its not a limb or something, he'd make it happen somehow. He slowly backed off of Lucius and gave him some room to lead the way.
Lucius shook his head a bit and pointed towards the window. There was no way you could sneak out from the front door.
"We can leave through the window...there's a ladder...."
Sheamus let his head slip out of the window and looked down. That ladder?...The rusted one? Sheamus didn't trust that thing as far as he could throw it. And he couldn't throw it. He wouldn't dare. He looked back at Lucius and smiled a bit, his eyes showing that he was formulating a plan on the inside.
"I think I got an idea...one that might avoid fallin' two stories…." he smirked, he reached in his pocket, and his eyes widened. He frantically searched every possible pocket on his body, unable to locate his phone. He looked back up at Lulu with a mite bit of panic.
"I cant find my phone! I think I left it back at the dorms…." he whisper screamed. YYYYYYY
Lucius look at him with a worried expression, then put his hands in his pockets, taking out his own phone.
"Use mine...password is loves Shea....well...yea you get it."
He didn't notice the condom that fell on the floor when he took his phone out of his pocket Then again he still wonders why he even puts a password on his phone.
Sheamus accepted the phone and looked down at the stray condom, his face lighting up a bright pink and trying not to acknowledge it. It just stared him in the face as he unlocked Lulu's phone. Large?...holy shit how….they had sizes for those things? He blushed even more and made a slight coughing noise to give Lucius a hint.
"*cough cough*ithinkyoudropped*cough*something*cough*" he mustered out. He looked at his phone and went to Recent calls, seeing his father plugged in. Perfect. He tapped the call button and waited patiently.
He tilted his head a bit, not remembering having something he could drop. He decided to brush it off and ask what he was doing.
Downstairs, Lucius's father picked up his cell phone, wondering why the hell he would be calling him.
"Lucius we can't talk." He gruffly said.
Sheamus cleared his throat a bit and tried to impersonate Lucius as best as he could, his impression actually not that bad.
"Dad, I think your ex-wife is hoping the backyard fence. She's got a bunch of alcohol and a pistol." he spoke into the phone, listening to see if he dad bought it. Meanwhile he grabbed Lucius's chins and pointed his gaze down at the ground, hoping to bring his attention to the condom.
"I've only been married once..." He growled. "Lucius what the hell?"
Lucius looked down and his eyes widened. He picked it up quickly, stuffing it in his pocket, blushing the same color of his hair if it wasn't black.
Sheamus started to panic. He thought a little bit quickly and tried again.
"Well who's that lady? She looks like a pissed off Renee Zellweger."
Sheamus was actually having a little bit of fun trying to distract his father. He was hoping he was take the bait long enough for both of them to slip out the front door and take off. He hardly gave mind to Lucius blushing, and focused more on his father.
"Oh….she's getting naked…." he said, then moved the phone away, snickering a bit.
"What?!" He hung up on him, and a few fast footsteps could be heard downstairs, but they were heading upstairs. Lucius looked at Sheamus a bit franticly.
"Shea Shea! what happened?" He took his phone back.
Sheamus heard the steps and started to freak out. He let him take the phone back and let out a squeak of distress.
"He didn't buy it he didn't buy it go out the window now, now hurry!" He stammered to the window, and let Lucius have room to go first. "I was trying to get him to go out to the back and it didn't work, we have to go now!"
Sheamus heard the steps getting closer and started to breath even faster, his feet unable to stop moving. He couldn't keep himself in one spot.
Lucius picked Sheamus up and leapt out the window, moving so if they fell on something hard, he himself would take the damage. They both landed on a fairly soft bank of snow that was half melted. The door flings open upstairs and a few confused shouts can be heard.
"S...Shea? You alright....???" He asked, brushing the snow off him.
Sheamus let out a yelp as they hit the snow, clinging onto him like a child to a new toy. Every hair on his body went into an instant frizz, curling up tightly. He opened an eye to see that both of them were safe, then let out a long exhale of sweet relief. He pulled Lulu into a very big kiss, then leaned out of it.
"Never again…..never ever, ever again………...but I'm okay~"
He smiled brightly and couldn't help but laugh. He had spoken of naked women, seen a condom, and jumped out a window to escape a deranged father all in the last minute. He gently let himself down, still snickering.
"Let's just get out of here…." he giggled lightly.
Lucius smiled and hugged him, nuzzling him against the cold. He really should do something special for Sheamus, as he had been through a lot.
"Come on, we don't have to go back right away....I'll take you to dinner or something. Like Olive Garden or whatever you want. They have vegan there, right?"
He took Sheamus's hand and started walking him back to the car.
Sheamus blushed a bit, only having heard of Olive Garden. He loved how he was thinking of vegan places to take him. He was more than willing to go with him, as long as he didn't spend too much. He would feel so bad if he did.
"That...would be lovely!" He smiled, nuzzling into him as they walked back to his truck.
