I really don't know what to say because I don't know where it's going or even if it will end up good and entertaining. If it tends to get really boring or confusing could you tell me?Thanks! View table of contents...

Hello, my name is Sarah Lee Jones and I am a junior in high school. I go to one of those small school that only has about 300 kids. Ya know... the one in that town where everyone knows eachother and everything about eachother? Yea, people acutally live in places like that. And I'm one of those crazy people.

However, I find it amazing that I am the only one at school who knows everyone's name and yet no one knows mine. People don't talk to me. I think they're intimidated by me, but what they don't realize is that I'm intimidated by them, too. It really sucks that they can't even write me a note or look at me when they talk to me.

Oh... I guess I should tell you something else about me. I'm deaf. My native language is sign and yet I make it a point that I am fluent in English when it comes to writing. As you may have guessed, being deaf makes it difficult to speak, but I go to speech therapy all the time and I try my best to make myself understood. I wear hearing aids, even though they really don't help me.

I guess you're wondering why I'm deaf. Well, I'll tell you. My mother and father neglected me when I was born and were drug addicts. They would blast music in the house to prevent them from hearing my cries. Over time, the cilia in my ear flattened and couldn't come back up. So now I'm deaf. Pretty tragic, huh? Well, it probably would be, if it were the truth.

Oh, so now you just want to walk away, don't you? She's just a stupid Deaf girl... She makes up stories because all she wants is sympathy and she's a nasty liar. But you know what, that's fine. If you don't have the patience for me or don't think I'm worth your time just because I'm not some tragic story, then go. I don't want you here. But if you're staying I want you to understand something.

I was born this way. I was born without my hearing and I'm perfectly fine with that. My parents love and adore me. They do everything in their power to make me both part of the hearing and Deaf world. And I love them for that. I couldn't ask for anything more.
