A Music Inspiration Challenge

Hello fellow Booksie members! I have been in a bit of a writing block lately, and have been listening to music to try and find some inspiration to write about. Doing that led me here: a musical inspiration challenge.

There is only one rule:

The Short Story or Poem must relate to the song you choose (hopefully capturing not only the subject matter, but the spirit as well).

The song choices are below. I have chosen a variety of songs - but each one I feel can have a beautiful story spun off of it.

I wish you the best of luck! The deadline is New Year's Eve!

The Songs:

  • The Gambler - Kenny Rogers
  • Me & Bobby McGee - Janis Joplin
  • I Go Back - Kenny Chesney
  • The House That Built Me - Miranda Lambert
  • Jar of Hearts - Christina Perri
  • Strawberry Wine - Deana Carter
  • Hallelujah - Rufas Wainwright
  • The Man Who Can't Be Moved - The Script
  • Dirty Little Secret - All American Rejects
  • Livin' On A Prayer - Bon Jovi
  • So Small - Carrie Underwood
  • Tattoos On This Town - Jason Aldean
  • Half of My Heart - John Mayer
  • I Walk the Line - Johnny Cash
  • I Wonder - Kellie Pickler
  • Broken - Lifehouse
  • Lucky Man - Montgomery Gentry
  • All The Right Moves - One Republic
  • Skin - Rascal Flatts
  • The Night the Lights Went Out - Reba McEntire

Comment with your choice! No duplicates!!
