Chase and Leah 2

It was the end of July when I last saw Chase when he left at the airport and now it’s Almost Christmas. It’s been a long 5 months but everything is good. We talk a lot through the computer and texting. Occasionally there is a phone call but not a lot because long distance charges are outrageous. It was the second to last day of school before our Christmas break. I had finally gotten my N and a car, so I was driving Alena and myself to school. We were talking about how Chase wanted to come again for Christmas and, as much as I would have liked it, I didn’t let him because it wasn’t right for him to ditch his family.

“So are you going to send him anything then?” She asked.

“I thought about it but I don’t want to risk anything getting lost in the mail.”

“Then get something cheap, but it means something...” She suggested. “Then if it gets lost it didn’t cost a whole bunch.”

“Yeah,” I said shutting off the car and stepping out into the cold air. “I swear it gets colder every year.”

“Yeah but it never snows.” She frowned.

“Then it would be really, really cold.” I smiled locking the doors.

“But there’s the possibility of a snow day...”

“Yeah you’re right there.” I agreed. “Come on we’ll be late.”

We got inside as the bell went. I ran to my locker and made it to math on time. My phone buzzed in my pocket and I checked it quickly, hoping the teacher wouldn’t catch me when he came in.

To Leah:

From Chase:

Have a good day :) We’ll talk after school today, promise.

The message made me smile considering we hadn’t talked in a few days. I started to reply but the teacher came in and I really didn’t feel like getting my phone taken away.

“Okay, hand in yesterday’s work then, open your books to page 131 and do the review for tomorrow’s test.”

It was easy work and I would be done in no time but school wouldn’t. I couldn’t wait though; this was going to be a long day.

The end of the day came faster than I had anticipated which was good. By the time I dropped Alena off and got home it was almost four and I needed to work at 6. That gave me a couple of hours. I signed on as soon as I could, there were only a few people on line but no Chase. I was about to sign off when a message came up.

Chase: Hello :)

Leah <3: Oh I thought you were offline :S

Chase:No, just appearing offline so no one talks to me but you.

Leah <3: Oh, haha well hello :)

Chase: How was school?

Leah <3: Boring as usual. How was whatever you did today?

Chase: Well it’s still morning, I sent that message at like 4 am or something.

Leah <3: Oh my bad. I fail time differences. Why were you up so early, you crazy!

Chase: Good question.

Leah <3: I thought so.

Chase: :) Couldn’t sleep I guess.

Leah <3: Oh...

Chase: Yeah. I miss you.

Leah <3: I miss you too :( I don’t blame you but it sucks having a bad day and then not having you here just to be with.

Chase: Aww I’m sorry :(

Leah <3: It’s okay... :)

We talked about the most random crap for the next hour, but I needed to get ready for work now.

Leah <3: Hate to say but I gotta go to work :(

Chase: I do too, it’s cool.

Leah <3: Alright, ttyl. I love you :)

Chase: Love you too :)

I signed off then got ready for work and left.
