The Booksie Contest of a Lifetime

By: Rhensis

Chapter 1, This contest requires dedication. Please only sign up if you are a dedicated person:) Chapter 2 holds the contestants:)

*There seems to have been some confusion so as to how the challenge works. Here is a basic description of what will happen:
When the contest begins, (on the 13th of June), I will post a prompt and notify all the contestants. They will then have a week to write something about the prompt. For the first round, I will choose what fifteen writers are left.

In the second round until the last one, I will post a prompt. You will then have a week to write about it. Then you will have three days to vote for, out of the two candidates up for elimination, who you want to stay in. I will keep you updated on your profile page about the happenings of the contest.

Rinse and repeat until the last round when there will be 3 people left. I will post a prompt and then you will have a week to write about it. In this round, all the candidates from every round will be required to vote on who they want to win. The person with the least votes gets 3rd, middle amount of votes gets 2nd, and the most votes 1st.

Remember if you are voted out you are still expected to vote!

Hope that clears it up!*

Welcome!

This challenge is similar to the Booksie Reality Show, which, unfortunately, seems to have stopped.

I am an enthusiastic Booksiest and will therefore not let you down, I promise!

This is a contest of many rounds.

What will happen:

Any number of people can join. I mean it. There is no number limit.

By the second round, no matter what the original number, there will be only fifteen contestants left.

Only the best writers will get through. I will judge you on writing ability, characters and plot. I will comment on your entry to let you know I've read it, but I won't give you any feedback, as that could be unfair:)

The first round will start on the 13th of June, you have to be signed up by the 12th. This means you have plenty of time to sign up.

At the end of each round, (except the first, when I will have the final say, and the last, see below), I will choose two writers to be put up for elimation, then you will have to vote. Remember that even if you're voted off you're expected to vote, and I will notify you of the candidates up for elimination.

To vote you must comment on my voting page, (which I will post when the candidates up for elimination are notified) the person you want to stay IN the competition, (make sure you vote for who you want to STAY IN, otherwise the other person could stay in).

Everyone else will be safe. I will comment on your pages to let you know;)

You will also be notified of the prompts, which will be in the chapters of this novel style contest. I'll let you know what chapter the new prompt is in and give you a link to it in my comment.

If you have personal issues, then I will allow you to drop out, (if you want to:) ), but if you don't want to, I will give you some leeway, so you won't be put up for elimation that time.

When we get to the last 3 people, it will be up to the contestants, not me.

*NOTE:When you are voted out you are still expected to vote for other people*

The rules:

Your works must be based on the prompt given that week. Make sure you read them carefully. These prompts can vary from music to pictures.

Swearing is allowed.

Erotic stories, whatever the prompt, are not allowed. If you do an erotic story you will be immediately disqualified.

FanFic prompts won't happen, but I'm still going to tell you that you aren't allowed FanFiction entries. You will be immediately put up for elimination if you do a FanFic.

Poems are accepted, but they have to be more than four lines. You will be immediately put up for elimination if it's less than that.

Short stories are great! No restrictions there, other than it can be no less than 100 words. If you do less than that you'll be put up for elimination.

Novels are a tough one. I've decided to allow you to do novels, but you must have at least 2 chapters by the deadline. You will be immediately be put up for elimination if you have less.

Essays, true confessions and anything like that depend on the prompt. I'll let you know in the details of the prompts.

Sometimes I will ask you to read a Booksie author's work for the prompt. Be assured I've asked their permission.

The prompt will be put up the day voting ends. You have a week for each prompt. For voting, you will have 3 days after the end of the prompt.

eg. First prompt is from the 13th to the 20th. Voting takes place from the 21st to the 23rd inclusive. The next prompt starts on the 24th

Tough? Don't worry. I'm not looking for 11'000 word stories. I want stories that capture me, take me on an adventure with believable characters. This is about quality, not quantity, (although if you write a 100 word story you probably won't succeed...)

All entrants will recieve a prize. They are as follows:

Eliminated in the first round, (all but 15 people): You will get a fan request from me:)

Eliminated in the second round (leaving 14): You'll get a fan request and I'll read one of your works

Eliminated in the third round (leaving 13): I'll fan you and read two of your works

Eliminated in the 4th round (leaving 12): I'll fan you and read three of your works

Eliminated in the 5th round (leaving 11): I'll fan you and read four of your works

Eliminated in the 6th round (leaving 10):I'll fan you and read all of your works.

Emilinated in the 7th round (leaving 9): I'll fan you and read all of your works. I'll advertise you to half my fans

Eliminated in the 8th round (leaving 8): I'll fan you and read all of your works. I'll advertise you to 3/4 of my fans

Eliminated in the 9th round (leaving 7):I'll fan you and read all of your works. I'll advertise you to all of my fans

Eliminated in the 10th round (leaving 6):I'll fan you and read all of your works.I'll advertise you to all of my fans plus a 1/4 of those I'm a fan of

Eliminated in the 11th round (leaving 5):I'll fan you and read all of your works. I'll advertise you to all of my fans plus all those I'm a fan of

Eliminated in the 12th round (leaving 4):I'll fan you and read all of your works. I'll advertise you to all my fans plus those I'm a fan of and another 10 people on Booksie.

Eliminated in the 13th round (leaving 3):I'll fan you and read all of your works. I'll advertise you to all my fans plus those I'l a fan of and another 20 people on Booksie.

3rd place: The above plus I'll advertise you to 30 people rather than 20. I'll make a Book cover for a work of your choice.

2nd place:The above plus I'll advertise you to 50 people rather than 30. I'll make a Book cover for 3 works of your choice.

1st place: The above but I'll advertise you to two hundred people rather than 50. I'll make a Book cover for all of your works. I'll write a novel with you. You'll be able to say that 'I won the Contest of a lifetime. I'm awesome'. I will, (with your permission, of course), advertise you on my Facebook page and my blog.

Everyone who is in the top 15 will be put on my hall of fame, alongside writers such as PageTurner, which I am going to be publishing after the contest.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask me.

If you want to join, please state this clearly, eg. Ok, I'll join. IF you put 'errmmm ok', I won't accept that as an acknowledgement that you're joining.

If you like the challenge please click 'like' and reccomend it to your friends. The more people the better.

Joining may be the best desicion in your Booksie career. At some point, it is likely that everyone will be put up for elimination. Understand I don't do this because I hate you:)

If this goes well, I might make another similar contest!

As I say in the summary, please don't join if you aren't dedicated to my conest. I don't want this to end up going down the toilet.

Please enjoy my contest!
