“Shit.” I run and grab Jason’s arm. He whirls around, anger showing on every feature of his usually calm face.
“Jason, what is it, what’s wrong? I said I was sorry… Come on…” He rips his arm away.
“Nothing, Alexis, nothing. Just fuck off!” Manda walks up to me and wraps her arms around me… Dustin continues on ahead.
“I’m going to go check in.” I nod and head into the school, putting my sunglasses on over my contact lens eyes. I chose a brown weird colours lens, compared to my average bright blue eyes. Watching Manda walk in, I know she’s still upset. I glance at the school, when suddenly I run into a wall…Well what I thought was a wall until I looked up.
“Hey new girl, need a man to show you around?” Joey’s voice fills me with disgust, and I flip him the bird and try to walk around him. He reaches for me, just as Dustincomes behind him and grabs my hand.
“Come on, Love.” Joey whirls around.
“Ohhh, she taken, Eh?” With that, he walks away.
‘I’m going to let him keep calling me new girl…he doesn’t know who I am, and I’d like to keep it that way..”
I head to the office to register, and shake my head at how nothings changed. The jocks still crowd around lockers, with cheerleaders hanging off their arms, as they taunt the less fortunate average school body.
Reaching the office, the receptionist looks up.
“Hi….Um.. I’m new here?” She nods and shuffles through papers.
“Your name and transcripts please.”
‘It’s a good thing I forged these the other day, without Dustin knowing.’
“Here’s my transcripts, and my name is Alex… Alex Emington.” After everything is done, she hands me my class schedule, and I can’t help but notice how I have majority of the same classes. Walking back to the lockers, I spot Amanda, Dustin and Jason. I run up to them and show them the card. Manda crosses her arms.
“Alex? Really?” I nod and put my head down.
“I wanted a fresh start…” Her face softens a little bit.
“It’s a good things only we know your birthmarks perfectly. Otherwise, when you take those glasses off, everyone would know. But.. You did a good job hiding most of them with cover up anyway, girl.” Jason walks away once again, and I can’t help but wonder what’s going on. Dustin grabs my hand and walks me to my class.
“History, lovely.. With the one and only Joey.. No Manda… No Dustin..’
I walk in and sit at the back, showing the teacher my new student card. Joey saunters in late, as usual, and instantly spots me, making his way towards me. Looking at my notebook, I try to ignore his constant stare.
‘Man.. Does he ever blink?’
“So new girl, what’s your name?” He looks at me with the usual flirty look, and I roll my eyes.
“Not interested, now fuck off.” He snickers and grabs my notebook. I look up and glare at him, his eyes instantly widening.
‘Shit…’
