I'm just going to make a "file" for some of my interesting ideas of what I would like to write about and probably include excerpts as they come to me... Maybe this is more for my benefit I guess, but maybe it'll interest you. View table of contents...

Title: The Little Mermaid

Type: Novel probably

Genre: romance, fairy-tale, something Idon't know the name of :P I gues fan-fiction too, in a sense, but I'll be changing it a lot

Outline: Ariel is a mermaid. Do you know what a mermaid is? Do you remember the Sirens from Greek Mythology? Well, that's what a mermaid is. They're beautiful little seagodesses who sit in the sea and lure men in with their beautiful song. Then they KILLTHEMALL! Now you're thinking, "So THAT'S why there was so much about her voice in the disney movie! So THAT'S why the mermaids in Peter Pan are so evil and scary!" That's why I will/would have to brush up on my Greek mythology to write this. Because, unlike Disney, my 'Little Mermaid" would be an evil conniving Siren who somehow fell in love with a pitiful human. And she might save him and stuff and someone will somehow steal her voice and lure him in, because that's the whole point of the Siren's voices. Anyhow, I probably won't ever write this, but SamanthaTaylorSmith(some number that I can never remember) mockingly suggested it because I am re-writing two other fairy tales :P

On a more serious note, I've been thinking about how much fun it would be to write about immortality and I've always wanted to write about the sea so I might end up actually writing about mermaids at some point (not to say that mermaids are necessarily immortal, but I might make them that way.) And PS:I did some research and apparently mermaids are not Sirens, but are from other myths that all sort of mixed together. Thus, the French word for 'mermaid' is 'sir Normal 0 ène' and the Spanish is 'sirena,' which is what lead me to believe they were the same thing.
