Type: Short Story
Tagline: Unrequited. Undying. Unknown.
Summary: An actress receiving messages from a secret admirer first sees no cause for alarm. But when the admirer begins harming people close to her, the FBI discovers it is another celebrity.
I sort of see this as an episode of Criminal Minds (which I probably watch too much of...) going as follows:
It opens in a classy restaurant, all seems normal. A couple are sitting at a table, the man smiles at her, she smiles back seeming a little shy. He begins describing how it was "love at first sight", "I remember when we first met", and so on. Slowly it becomes clear that something is not right. However, the short story will be written in first person present as this "date" plays out, interspersed with flashbacks narrated in past tense of how things really happened. It's an exploration of fanaticism and the line between creepy and romantic.
