My town is dominated by white, catholic, and of course, straight people.

I stared at the drag queen walking by as my friends and I started to shout curses and calling it a faggot. The man or whatever you would call it looked at me with pain filled eyes. I was completely oblivious to the hurt he was feeling. This wasn't the first time I participated in this. It's considered fun and entertaining to people. It may have not been a federal crime to be gay but it was not approved of in the bible, and because of that it wasn't approved of by a majority of the people in my town, including me. My town is dominated by white, catholic, and of course, straight. All the high authority positions here are held by people that are all three. The way people see it thought their eyes' can be brutal, harsh, but most of all it could be wrong, that's what she taught me.

I live with my parents and until recently my sister Leah. Leah told us not to long ago the worst thing she could possibly be… a lesbian. My parents were completely horrified. They told her to leave and never come back. They also gave here girlfriend Amy an ear full for turning their daughter into a sinner. Leah stepped in when Amyy started to cry. The walked out the door and that was the last time I'd seen her. You wouldn't have thought there was anything wrong with her. She was an ideal sister and daughter until she turned. My parents are still wondering where they went wrong.

The first day back from Christmas break was as boring as usual. The best time of my day besides lunch and gym is math. In catholic school we had confession which I hated more then any other subject. Other then that I don't mind catholic school the uniforms aren't too bad and it's a good education.

I sent a message to a really cute girl named Josephine during homeroom. It was pretty much asking her if she wanted to go to the mall with a group of friends next week. While sitting in math class while quickly jotting down and equation and some notes half way thought the class I received a folded piece of paper. It was Josephine's not saying yes and asking to pick me up at seven pm sharp. Smiling, I folded the note, put it in my binder, and continued doing the equations until the dismissal bell rang.

As everyone flooded onto the school lawn I walked outside to find my sister Leah in front of the school leaned against her black jeep.

"Anthony!" Leah screamed as I thought 'Oh no! what is she doing here?'
