Absence of Dreams

Poetry By: American Roulette

A song but I didn't write it in song form.

Thick words of sadness,

roll down your sweet tongue,

conditions meant for only one,

only me.

Soft visions of silence,

I am what I've become,

a Heartless combatant of love,

its my life.

I've treated good patients,

with all of the wrong drugs,

with sickness branded to my skin,

I've become numb to this life.

If you ask me how I sleep at night,

the truth is that I never sleep at all,

I lay awake in bed,

I wish for sleep with the absence of dreams,

my conscious is blinded by lost hope to believe,

forget me.
