Intimidating

Poetry By: Angie Blake

A poem I wrote the other day when my daughter and I were talking about intimidation.

Why waste a minute of your
precious life away,
Don't beat around the bush,
Just say what you gotta say.

Don't dilly dally or pussy foot,
Or make people read between the lines,
Just take all the sugar coating out
and stand up and speak your mind.

Look at them right in the eyes
standing straight and tall,
Talk in a nice, low steady voice
and let them have it all.

Don't stutter, don't whisper,
Don't slur your words,
Speak very clearly
and make sure your heard.

Don't spoil this minute
that you have on stage,
Play the role
without the anger or the rage.

Don't blink your eyes,
or glance away,
for that moment will surely die
and fade away.
