The Tap Dancing Clown

Poetry By: Angie Blake
Other

I just wanted something to remember the circus and the clowns. Entertainment that's gone out with the ages.
Something that came to mind right when I first woke up.

Tap Tap Tap
The rain's coming down

Tap Tap Tap
went the tap dancing clown.

The painted on smile
He has on his face,
when the curtain goes up
He's dancing all over the place.

Juggling balls
three or four at a time,
playing with fire,
the first non-speaking mime.

Him and his buddies
act out all of the skits,
The fat lady sings
and they all call it quits.

The big red nose
and the flat red shoes,
The tap dancing clowns
are really cutting loose..

Tap Tap Tap
the rains coming down
Tap Tap Tap
went the tap dancing clown.
