A Dream in the Night

I lay down, closing my eyes, slowly drifting off to sleep.

Hours fly as time goes by, suddenly consumed in ecstacy.

This imagination; a complete sensation; why in the world is this happening to me?

I open my eyes, looking up to the sky, as far as the eye could see.

I take a look around, nothing; not even a sound.

Where could I possibly be?

The stars become alive, starting to show;

the sea down under, begins to twinkle and glow.

All lit up, by the end of the night; everything gleams,

shining so bright.

* * * * * * * *

I then sprout wings, beginning to fly;

drifting away, into the peaceful night sky.

The stars up above, like the souls of the dead;

I continue to soar; where next, will I head?

* * * * * * * *

It all begins to fade, and soon disappear;

it then comes to me, and now its all clear.

Things aren't the way they seem; and I soon realize,

that its nothing but a dream.
