Timeless Figures

We spend our daily lives
ignoring the lifeless figures
un-noticably passing by

Like ghosts of mist
that failed to thrive
we see them not
yet they are very much alive

To us they are just faces
building blocks of past and present
silhouettes, drifting through the ages
with backgrounds horrid and pleasant

With different beliefs and cultures
vassals of the forgotten and ignored
mysterious God-made sculptures
hated, despised or adored

They pass us by, evasively
wanting nothing more than peace
and we neglect them, thoughtlessly
to fill our selfish hearts with ease

We spend our daily lives
ignoring the lifeless figures
un-noticably passing by

Our feelings matter not
Pointlessly, these figures we condemn
for "they" is all of us
and "we" is all of them
