Daddy’s Day
You have put up with me
For fourteen *fun* years
You have never hit or screamed
Or caused me any tears
You were there to help
When I landed on my knee
You put a band aid on it
And told it not to bleed
Through all my nightmares
You said, “Everything’s alright
The monsters have all gone away
And won’t come back tonight”
You held my hand to cross the street
With Mommy years ago
You told me to stop growing
And how you love me so
So Daddy, I know
That with all these years, I can say
That you are the best Daddy I can wish for
