So many people take one look at someone and judge them right then and there. I admitt I do it too. But look twice. Then what do you see? Not so pretty is it? Look twice. Because there's always more than meets the eye. View table of contents...

There's always more than meets the eye.

You might see someone,

With the perfect life, the perfect friends.

But how do you know that's it?

She could be beautiful,

And have abusive parents.

He could be the star of the football team,

And goes home every night to an empty house.

But then it could be the other way around.

You could see the class geek.

And not look twice.

But if you did,

Then you'd see the pain in her eyes.

Her father up and left yesterday.

She hasnt heard from her mom in two weeks.

Keeping up in school is the only thing keeping her sane.

Now I'm telling you to look twice at the person,

That you probably wouldnt look at once.

Because there's always more than meets the eye.

Very nicely done..so many times we are just so quick to judge a person when we really should just look no further then the nose of our own face then we won't have time to judge someone else..

I have a saying which is this, "never judge the person who you see who is falling because one day it may be you who will be falling."

ah, it is too true. i can also admit to being this way, but then who is really perfect?
We can't help it, but it will always be there, mostly because we are unhappy with ourselves...
beautiful poem, im no professional, i read the meaning, not the words. So, in my lowly qualified position i say it s a great poem, another one to reflect on. There is a saying, that you may already know (mind you i do not have perfect memory, but i remember the general idea); "do not point out the splinter in your brothers eye when you yourself have straw in your eye"
