Page 1, Back in time an angel sat next to me. The poem is a true happening, the angel probably an illusion. I trust this will earn a few tears.

The Angel Sitting Next to Me

Make me Cry Picture Poetry Challenge - PumpkinSpice 57

Sitting alone under starry skies deep in the night
Mesmerised by the shining of their sparkling light
A gentle breeze through my hair blew
Then I saw her sitting there
An angel so beautiful like that of the morning dew
She smiled an angelic shy smile at me
My eyes not blinking afraid I may loose
This picture of a maiden so fair
On her shoulders hung her long brown shiny hair
“It is me!” she spoke
“Do remember years ago in the summer month of September?”
A chill now running down my spine
As my memories wandered back in time
I answered, “can this be true is it really you?”
She nodded her head to confirm
I saw a tear running down her cheek
As to me her face she did turn
Then looking into her sky blue eyes
Just a pretty as butterflies
Now going back to that haunting moment
On that summers day
I again saw clearly her in the garden at play
Then hearing the moment of a hard crash
Into the pool she fell all I saw was the splash
I ran next door as fast as I could
To only find her at the bottom of the pool
Then diving in and lifting her out
I heard her mothers devastating voice scream and shout
Leigh-Ann just lay so still
Not a breath through her lips
I watched her into another dimension slip
Her body tiny and so frail
Her sweet little face a lighter shade of pale
Her mom such a good friend to me
Helpless I was could not from death her daughter free
She just lay there without a stir
On her there was no frown or crease
I knew then she was at peace
She had just become another angel of the sky
Her mom bent down and kissed her cheek
After then I never again heard her speak
Now coming out of this back flash trance
Again at this angel face I did glance
A smile to last a lifetime she gave to me
And this assured me she is now happy as can be
Then into the far she again disappeared
Until this day this angel that sat at my feet never again appeared
Left with these thoughts is all I have
Still seeking the answer what went wrong
Sometimes in the wind I can still hear her child song
