TWILIGHT
By Christopher Owens
There is no way I can make you understand.
The pain in my heart I’ve felt through the years.
I don’t blame you, not at all.
You never caused my anguished tears.
You told me what needed to be said.
I would never ask anything more.
Just know that if you are ever in need of help
I am an open door.
CHORUS:
My heart is sorrowful
With the struggles of my life.
Too many lies, too much heartache
Have plagued me with strife.
The pieces of my heart can’t be repaired
And two wrongs don’t make a right.
I am now the cold and distant shadow.
I am the Twilight.
You were my friend when I was in need
Until I found out I was living a lie.
The truth nearly tore me apart
Made me want to lie down and die.
This is the straw that broke the camel’s back
I won’t let this get the best of me.
I just wish you could’ve seen the man I truly am
Instead of the one I pretend to be.
CHORUS:
My heart is sorrowful
With the struggles of my life.
Too many lies, too much heartache
Have plagued me with strife.
The pieces of my heart can’t be repaired
And two wrongs don’t make a right.
I am now the cold and distant shadow.
I am the Twilight.
The illusions and lies blinded me.
Kept dragging me along.
I thought that you were different from all of the others.
Why, oh why, did you have to prove me wrong?
CHORUS:
My heart is sorrowful
With the struggles of my life.
Too many lies, too much heartache
Have plagued me with strife.
The pieces of my heart can’t be repaired
And two wrongs don’t make a right.
I am now the cold and distant shadow.
I am the Twilight.
CHORUS:
My heart is sorrowful
With the struggles of my life.
Too many lies, too much heartache
Have plagued me with strife.
The pieces of my heart can’t be repaired
And two wrongs don’t make a right.
I am now the cold and distant shadow.
I am the Twilight.
