On With the Show
A song for one of the greatest teachers on earth
By Christopher Owens

Hail to the Chief!
The unsung hero of old.
Long live the King, King of Kings
With his mighty wisdom and heart of gold.
Oh Captain, my Captain
This ship cannot sail without you.
Through battered acts and weathered lines
You always help us arrive on cue.
ON WITH THE SHOW!
The lights are on
The curtains have begun to rise.
The spotlight, the sun of the stage
Burns brightly in our eyes.
The house is full
Smiling faces in the light.
We are here and we have you to thank
You’re the reason for opening night.
CHORUS:
Hail to the Chief!
The unsung hero of old.
Long live the King, King of Kings
With his mighty wisdom and heart of gold.
Oh Captain, my Captain
This ship cannot sail without you.
Through battered acts and weathered lines
You always help us arrive on cue.
ON WITH THE SHOW!
Your flawless direction
Breathed life into the show.
We could have left it all behind
But you refused to let it go.
We sing we dance we laugh
We love to go with the jive.
This performance can truly be considered
The show of our young lives.
CHORUS:
Hail to the Chief!
The unsung hero of old.
Long live the King, King of Kings
With his mighty wisdom and heart of gold.
Oh Captain, my Captain
This ship cannot sail without you.
Through battered acts and weathered lines
You always help us arrive on cue.
ON WITH THE SHOW!
The curtain falls on the cast
But the show has just begun.
We will make sure that your opus
Will never be done.
Your work is heralded, your friendship treasured.
There is so much that you do.
Let us take some of that kindness
And give it back to you.
CHORUS:
Hail to the Chief!
The unsung hero of old.
Long live the King, King of Kings
With his mighty wisdom and heart of gold.
Oh Captain, my Captain
This ship cannot sail without you.
Through battered acts and weathered lines
You always help us arrive on cue.
ON WITH THE SHOW!
CHORUS:
Hail to the Chief!
The unsung hero of old.
Long live the King, King of Kings
With his mighty wisdom and heart of gold.
Oh Captain, my Captain
This ship cannot sail without you.
Through battered acts and weathered lines
You always help us arrive on cue.
ON WITH THE SHOW!
