Shadow of My Heart

By Christopher Owens

(Sung to the rhythm of "Stricken" by Disturbed)

The cold and barren chains cannot contain me

I think it's time that you found out why.

I am not some animal left in a cage

Trying to break free and gain control each and every time.

You decided to capture and torture me

But you can't keep me even if you tried.

Now I am here fighting against the injustice

And now you will pay for your crimes

CHORUS:

Hell hath no fury like me

Free to go.

Now its time to settle the score

Once and for all!

Your darkest forces can never begin to rise up

From under the shadow of my heart.

You claim your power is greater than mine

Gloating how you can never die.

But your hubris is your greatest flaw

Leaves you vulnerable from each and every side.

The voices of the innocents cry out to me

Pleading to let go, to be free this time

But you block their every whimper

Now its time to teach you why

CHORUS:

Hell hath no fury like me

Free to go.

Now its time to settle the score

Once and for all!

Your darkest forces can never begin to rise up

From under the shadow of my heart.

FROM UNDER THE SHADOW OF MY HEART!

The cold and barren chains cannot contain me

I think it's time that you found out why.

I am not some animal left in a cage

Trying to break free and gain control each and every time.

You decided to capture and torture me

But you can't keep me even if you tried.

Now I am here fighting against the injustice

And now you will pay for all of your crimes

CHORUS:

Hell hath no fury like me

Free to go.

Now its time to settle the score

Once and for all!

Your darkest forces can never begin to rise up

From under the shadow of my heart.

FROM UNDER THE SHADOW OF MY HEART

My fury you shall know.

Yes the fury of my heart you shall know.
