I remeber when I was a little squirt
My dad would make me go fishing with him
And I hated it
Such a bore
But, looking back, I laugh
He would get a few beers in him, and haul ass in the little boat
I guess trying to scare the shit out of me
It was actually the best part
I remember imagining the drowned town below
A man made flooded city
'Catfish as big as Volkswagons'; sure
'Don't get to close to water or the beast will grab you'; funny
I remember seeing turtles chilling on rocks in the sun
I swear, they looked they were staring back, thinking 'What assholes'
It's good to remember sometimes
At the time, it was a total drag
But now the memories change somewhat
Maybe we can do it again, before we're memories ourselves
