Th old man sat idly on the bench
He was definitly CRAZY
But not HEARTLESS
Never a touch of remorse or SHAME
Had crept into his brain
Now as he sat there, tapping his FOOT in time
And observing these strange, modern moments
He thought about how he'd LEFT his spot here
And how much of a STRONG-WILLED nature
These children and grandchildren had
Just to get along day by day without cracking up
But he could also remember so many truly GOOD times
With each and every one of these people
He knew what an eccentric and gruff old man he had become
But none the less, all of these wonderful balls of energy and light
Loved him just as he loved them
So serene a feeling was lifting him now
While all these matters slowly evaporated
