A poem for two very important people who have always been there for me, and always will be.

I sit here by myself again, reflecting on what you said,
When you looked into my eyes and kissed me on the headYou told me it would be just fine,
And chased the bad thoughts all away. You got me on my feet again,
and sent me off to playBut here we go again,
For the seven millionth time.I know you're growing weary,
of all these faults of mine.I know you talk in secret,
I can hear you through the wall.I wish I was your star again,
instead of feeling small.I know you'll always love me,
You tell me every day.But something tells me deep inside,
It might just drift away. You, tell me there are rules
I should simply try and follow. You tell me that the sun will rise,
It's a brand new day tomorrow. You'll be my best friends forever,
And longer still than that. But we always end up having,
This disappointing chat.So you say "We'll read about you some day, just you wait and see"
But can you really be so sure that, that's my destiny? If only I could see,
All your great idealsMaybe I could show you,
that I will make them real. But for now I'll sit alone
Reflecting on what you saidAnd maybe all your words will stay this time,
Locked inside my head.
