I try to hold back the tears
As I watch my Son march away
The question keeps on yelling
Will he be back one day?
I try to hold back my fears
As I watch him leave my sight
He is just a boy
Being forced to kill and fight
I try to hold back my doubt
As I hear the famillies say
"Don't worry now
They'll come home some day"
I try to hold back the sobs
As I drop the rose - white but looking grey
And I think of all the others
Dropping roses where loved ones lay
I don't try to hold back the pride
My baby was so brave
And every one of them are brave men
With the roses on the grave
