I am the mother to whom you all belong;

Around you a web of charms I weave,

A web of love so fierce and strong,

And into each one of you a sense of pride I breathe.

-

I am the foundation upon which the mighty Zuma was formed.

I am the peaceful waters of blue and the graceful grasses of green.

I am the welcoming arms that embrace you as you come and you go.

I am the ardent spirit that sparks the fire you need.

-

Come children of Nri, Zaria and Ife;

The voices of the ancients beckon you home.

Though you may choose for a time to travel, to leave,

Never far from your hearts and minds shall I be.

-

Sing to me, children, in your voices so warm and so sweet,

A song that lifts the moon and raises the dawn.

No matter how far you wander away from me,

You'll never be able to escape my web of charms.
