Remembering 9/11

We set our eyes upon that sight
on the flames and tears all burning bright.

As the towers crumbled to the ground,

on our knees we stumbled down

crying, praying for those who passed

all because of a terrorist attack.

Some were fortunate, others were less

as the departments did their best.

Now we ask ourselves to why,

why did the good had to die?

The question rests unanswered

as our hearts lay still and battered.

And the tears come rushing down your cheeks

And you regret for what you did not speak

But do not fret; just raise your hands up high

and remember how they all had lived, not how they all had died.

Remember the good times when it happens,

but also remember the day of 9/11.

i'm sorry, i don't know how terrible it was for those who had lost friends, famly members, and relatives, i can't say for sure because i wasn't there, but i can relate to it and just feel how horrible it must be for them.

Thanks for coming over and taking your time to read!!

I heard their building a park at ground zero, with two blue lazer/light pointing in the air where the towers where. September eleven will be remembered for generations to come, but like all story's it will be told, twisted and eventually forgotten. I just hope no future events relate to the attacks. Now to your poem. Honestly, there are only two thing i would change (witch is allot less then most of the time. Thats is at the end i would have done
"but also remember the day
September
eleven"
and the line "all because of a terrorist attack." Just doesn't fit for me! Other then that it was a god poem, Based on remembering the dead instead of conspiracy theory's, like most of the stuff Ive read. I too don't know what its like to lose family and loved ones, but I would imagen that its worse then i can imagen! if that makes scene.. All i remember is waking up one morning, and i go turn on the TV and i see a plane flyign into a tower. AT first i thought it was a TV movie, but then i realized it was the morning news. Just one thing i always found interesting about the attacks: In 1698 (i think) there was a man called Academies (or something like that), He told a story about Silver sky canoes colliding with thin man made mountains, he drew a picture with looked exactly like what happened...

First of all, that is very creepy, but i do believe in those kinds of things.

Second about that second line you were talking about, just before i was wondering if i should change it. Now that you mentioned it, i knew i should've.

and Third, thanks, Reaper, for reading and giving a really great comment!!

awww 9/11 :(
i remember that day clearly. i was walking into my fourth grade classroom and the tv was on and everyone was crowding around it. one of my friends was crying and my teacher hurried to turn it off once the bell rang. i was scared. *sigh*

this is a great tribute and you focus on the positives rather than the negatives ^^ something always good to do :)

Thanks for coming by, Addie!!

Personally I try not to remember so much since it's the day before my birthday. My birthday hasn't been the same since then. But I do take the time to say a little pray each year :)

Wow nice poem. Specially the rhyming... And what Reaper said about the 9/11 already being predicted. Well, Nostradamus did it a long long time ago. Nice poem; really packed it in.

I'm glad you came!!

Thank you. The morning of 911 I hit my knees and prayed. I was supposed to sell wine to "Windows of the World" at 10:30a.m. (World trade center). Instead I was walking through Central Park (in my pajama's) to my girlfriends where I wouldn't be alone. We immediately went to a church and prayed......

I had never heard such hush and quiet in New York City. It seemed we were all in a TRANCE. My family tried to reach me for six hours, to no avail. When finally we spoke, I remember how grateful I am for the people in my life. At that moment I should have never taken anyone for granted again, this is not so. We are so imperfect human beings.

Anyway, thank you for writing. I don't think I have healed enough to write on 911 just yet!

Yeah, same here. It's been down with a bunch of viruses lately....but thanks for the comment!! It's greatly appreciated!

A sad day, that spilled horrors for both sides
those who got victimized and those who are paying the price, while terrorism still at large

aside from politics, as to who and why...

The world scarred that day, and is still trying to heal!

hi! gi.

1. GI: The name of Gi gives you a very idealistic nature. Your desire for peace and harmony causes you to withdraw from situations where there is friction and acrimony. You are quite reserved and inclined to feel sensitive and self-conscious, even though you strive to appear poised and confident. Being rather secretive in many ways, and not liking people to pry into your affairs restrict opportunities for friendship; not until you feel you can trust others do you open up to them. The desire to help others and the generous side of your nature attract those who take advantage of you.

2. GI CHANG: There are 7 letters in your name. Those 7 letters total to 40. There are 2 vowels and 5 consonants in your name.

Your number is: 4
The characteristics of #4 are: A foundation, order, service, struggle against limits, steady growth.

The expression or destiny for #4: Order, service, and management are the cornerstones of the number 4 Expression. Your destiny is to express wonderful organization skills with your ever practical, down-to-earth approach. You are the kind of person who is always willing to work those long, hard hours to push a project through to completion. A patience with detail allows you to become expert in fields such as building, engineering, and all forms of craftsmanship. Your abilities to write and teach may lean toward the more technical and detailed. In the arts, music will likely be your choice. Artistic talents may also appear in such fields as horiculture and floral arrangement, as well. Many skilled physicians and especially surgeons have the 4 Expression.

The positive attitudes of the 4 Expression yield responsibility; you are one who no doubt, fulfills obligations, and is highly systematic and orderly. You are serious and sincere, honest and faithful. It is your role to help and you are required to do a good job at everything you undertake.

If there is too much 4 energies present in your makeup, you may express some of the negative attitudes of the number 4. The obligations that you face may tend to create frustration and feelings of limitation or restriction. You may sometimes find yourself nursing negative attitudes in this regard and these can keep you in a rather low mood. Avoid becoming too rigid, stubborn, dogmatic, and fixed in your opinions. You may have a tendency to develop and hold very strong likes and dislikes, and some of these may border on the classification of prejudice. The negative side of 4 often produces dominant and bossy individuals who use disciplinarian to an excess. These tendencies must be avoided. Finally, like nearly all with 4 Expression, you must keep your eye on the big picture and not get overly wrapped up in detail and routine.

If you possess positive 1 Soul Urge qualities, you are very attainment oriented and driven to success. You are a loyal friend and strictly fair in your business dealings.

The negative side of the 1 Soul Urge must be avoided. A negative 1 is apt to dominate situations and people; the home, the spouse, the family and the business. Emotions aren't strong in this nature. If you possess an excess of 1 energy, you may, at times, be boastful and egotistic. You must avoid being too critical and impatient of trifles. A bunch of thanks to you, Smoizza!
I also like your pieces so far!!

Interesting writing for one who does not remember the attack. You captured the feelings of those who do. There were a couple of gliches I thought you might want to consider changing. The first is from this line: "why did the good had to die?" If it were me, I would change it to either, "why the good had to die" or "why did the good have to die." The second part I would change pertains to: "and remember how they all had lived, not how they all had died". I would move "not how they all had died" to the next line so, your writing doesn't take on the mask of gaudiness. Oh and for the individual who had problems with your writing as well, really should learn how to spell. (Witch is an old woman with a wart on her nose). Other than those small gliches, your poem is very well written. You might consider finding the documentary on the events of 9/11 so you too can feel, literally feel the pain that has cast a memory on the survivors of 9/11.
