Remembering 9/11
We set our eyes upon that sight
on the flames and tears all burning bright.
As the towers crumbled to the ground,
on our knees we stumbled down
crying, praying for those who passed
all because of a terrorist attack.
Some were fortunate, others were less
as the departments did their best.
Now we ask ourselves to why,
why did the good had to die?
The question rests unanswered
as our hearts lay still and battered.
And the tears come rushing down your cheeks
And you regret for what you did not speak
But do not fret; just raise your hands up high
and remember how they all had lived, not how they all had died.
Remember the good times when it happens,
but also remember the day of 9/11.
