Golden Girl Love

Poetry By: greenglasses

This is about those fake relationships within teenage it-crowd types, and how everyone sees them fall apart as quickly as they came.

You strutted past the threshold, as if it was God himself that set you at the doorstep,

as if you're fucking "love" was a right only you two earned,

in which God heavily approved you both in-shittily-deed, earned with 'heavy hearts'

To prove that you two were meant

God chose you to show off your love like a brand new tattoo,

right next to the grand ol' American flag inked on his ass

It was a sign when you both arrived,

silencing a crowded room when the cat dragged you in

Even if it had only been one solitary week of knowing each other,

You both were pretty sure you had it -that long-lasting love thing-

Now, PDA becomes your best friend in the joy ride/ killjoy

because you know eyes are watching,

and attention was all you were seeking from your blessed show of slobbery

Your faces fake with saturated cookie cutter expressions,

that everyone pretended to believe for what seemed like mere seconds

You wanted them jealous, and believed that was what they felt

Because you didn't like the way they looked at you with doubt,

smirking as they pass the new it-couple around…

When it all in fact ended with in the month,

you both were lost in complete denial

telling everyone and anyone who breathed in your vicinity,

all about how dumb the other was

while things went in one of your ears and out the other

Soon came your next spouse whom you didn't know the name of,

but you liked them because you heard they didn't like that so-and-so you were last with

For you?

God sent from the heavens above, your new materialistic love

and we all act shocked at another fucked up beginning to a fucked up ending
