behind the face he knew so well

sweet poison inside a pretty shell

willing him in closer and deeper

letting him think she was a real keeper

unlock the chain on your heart

doing something he thought was smart

he's dead and gone before they knew

only realising when the cold wind blew

keep your distance keep your wit

never unlock it for lies of shit

the poison rising in his throat

the letters on his tombstone wrote

he lays the fool of the night

the one who fought the sting of fright

dont let them show their face

keep up a stronger pace

keep the shadows from your heart

keep them far far apart

be strong and do not fall

even if it means you crawl

he was a fool for giving in

for letting his curiosity win
