Lost Sight of the Light

A girl makes a pact with the devil and sells her soul.

Love was all she wrote,
Left a letter and a corny life quote.
She had forgotten what life was worth.
Embrace the chance to leave this earth.
Finally, she drank that poison compote.
Then, her face went pale,
Her warm breath turned pale.
Eyes open but saw no light,
The doors of life clamped up tight.
The air was then filled with a lamenting wail.
One reason behind this fatal act,
With the devil, she made a pact.
A false promise later, she sold her soul,
To a handsome, young man with a heart of coal.
Common sense was what she lacked.
So, she went to burn in the flames below,
Just like all those tales of woe.
She thought of her mistakes, wished to take them back.
Her loss of faith threw her out of whack.
But, over was her battle with her unseen foe.
