What We See Behind Our Eyes

Poetry By: Jarod
Other

I closed my eyes once because I was bored in class, and decided to write about what I saw. I wish I could think of a title that's less revealing about the nature of the poem, but you can't always win.

What is blackness when color spins rings around its center?
When friends appear and disappear at the unheard whims of your mind;
When the brilliant reds of summer interlace with the jewel like blues of winter.
And the void of creation lays itself before you; each irrational element one of a kind.
Unable to comprehend the nature of what you see,
Your mind is limited in this limitless world,
Beneath the lids of your eyes.
