I never thought it would end this way
Tied up in a burlap sheet
Rocks inside to weigh me down
As they lift me into the air.
The priest says the Devil will take my soul
To roast in the pits of Hell, and I scoff
The evil is here! As I stare at the lake
That is to be my tomb for all time
Nausea threatens to take over
At the thought of that glassy water
Swallowing me whole, stealing my air
Greedily sucking away my life.
The thought of the world turning black
Under that freezing lake
Makes me shudder in horror and dread.
The priest finishes with a flourish
And they throw me up high
After a brief moment of flight
I plunge into the inky darkness to meet my fate.
