How could you?

You were gone all this time,

You crushed my heart,

Took all of what was mine,

You were my protector,

You were my guardian angel,

Now I'm sitting broken,

Now you're the devil in my eyes,

You had me sitting here,

Thinking of why I deserve,

A father that hates his children,

I tried to speak but I lost my nerve,

I have flashbacks of the nights,

When you came home drunk,

When you'd scream at me,

Or say 'come here you little punk',

All the things you've done,

All the scars you've left,

Have caused me to run away,

A baby chick that's left the nest,

Now you're trying to get back,

Back into my life,

Whispering all these little lies,

This has been my greatest strife,

You were never there,

Like a father should have been,

Leaving us on our own,

Never to be seen,

This time I ask you,

How dare you?
