A small house in the storm

I remember the wind,

so cold,

Like ice pellets,

So sharp,

I saw nothing,

I heard nothing,

Only felt,

My feet,

So sore,

But I still carried on,

Why would I stop?

When the trees loom over me,

Urging me on,

Telling me to take refuge in a small house,

Away from the storm,

Dark was the house,

No source of food and water,

But that was alright,

I thought I wouldn't be there for long,

How wrong was I ?...
