I fear I can't do this now
My mind is elsewhere, buried in snow
I just sit and gaze at my paper as time ticks
I decide to listen to a rapper then
I change my mind failing to find the CD
I continue to wholeheartedly ignore my wretched task
I turn up the radio in time to hear Celine sing about tax
I hum along unsure of the words
If only I was a brave maiden with magic swords
In a fairy tale land unafraid of any task, fighting evil
Instead I feel the desperate need to check my email
Maybe William replied back exclaiming his love
Sighing sadly I command my pen to move
Finally aware that I am beaten I pick up my pen
I glare at my smirking paper in irritation and pain then
Aware there is no hope for escape
I start my task my homework
