Cabin Fever in Pennsylvania

Poetry By: Matthew Zabala

Suffering from cabin fever, and missing fishing during the cold winter months in PA.

Living in Pennsylvania during winter is driving me crazy
Staying at home, and not being outside is making me lazy
Punxsutawney Phil says that spring will be here soon
But you never know, it may not get warm til June

I'm about out of ideas for poems and short stories
Movies, writing, and the internet are all getting boring
Cabin fever is setting in, and I'm starting to lose my mind
Maybe I should try ice fishing as a way to relax and unwind

Nothing beats being out all day on the lake
Fishing from a boat, without ever taking a break
Making 2,000 casts to try and land a lunker bass
Keeping your balance, so you don't fall on your ass

Writing about fishing will have to do for now
Winter is a cold-hearted bitch, and that's all she'll allow
Warm weather, please get here in a hurry
Because my sanity is fading, and I'm starting to worry
