Doomed to Repeat
Another election season is already upon us
At stake is whether we survive, or turn to dust
I can’t believe some of the things I am hearing,
that if they win out, the end we are nearing
“We know all the answers,” is all that they say
We’d all be heading backwards, if they get their way
Anti-education, anti a women’s right to choose
Trust big business, if you don’t you’ll lose
Back to the stone age, back to the past
They want us to stop moving forward, stop moving so fast
"Everything yesterday was peaches and cream
Just concentrate on the good times, and ignore the screams
of people in pain, of the ones we did forsake
The only thing that matters is 'How much did we make?'
If someone has to suffer, well we say 'So what?'
They were only standing in the way of progress, shut
out their pathetic cries and 'It’s full speed ahead!'
If the other side gets their way, down the road to ruin we’ll be led
Just ignore our solutions that didn’t work before
We know best, our ideas will lead to more
prosperous days for the wealthy and rich
The hell with the little guy, the son of a b***h!"
Yes, all their mistakes they’re doomed to repeat
Apparently, they learned nothing, they’re going to do it again, then we'll see
"Like magic it’ll be different this time, it’ll all work out
Trust in our knowledge, let there be no doubt
Only we have the answers, only we know the way
Just ignore what we’ve done in the past, don’t be afraid!"
