Hail is falling,
Engines are stalling
Its a dark and ominous Christmas Eve
Grave sites host mothers,
Children, and lovers
Falling angels sing as loved ones grieve
Candle-lit churches,
Snow covered hearses
Stained glass shattered on the floor
Ocean of tears,
Built up over years
Angry waves crash against the shore
Sorrow-filled voices,
Mothers without choices
Bodies beaten and numb
Dark clouds overhead,
No one speaks, nothings said
They all know the horrors to come
Frozen wind cuts through clothes,
Biting skin, and numbing toes
Children shiver on abandoned streets
Letters sent to the North Pole,
Holding secrets of the soul
Turn to ash as theyre burned for their heat
Sunlight slowly dies,
Air fills with muffled cries
Heads bow as lost souls pray
And throughout this tortured land,
Families stand hand in hand
And await a bright new Christmas day.
