Hey! Is this your new business? :) What a great idea! The first thing that comes to mind is food and drink, balloons, cake, and music, invitations, and places to book (reception). Nope, still coming back to food! LOL I will probably come back later to add more ideas. ~ KB

^_^ Oh Yes! do you know where to go for some food recipes? to Pratibhas page of delicious delights (I think that's the name of it?)
well, food yes, and it will definately change according to the party. will you be suggesting fine caterers to the people? if so you will need to find them. kinnkboots says invitations, and maybe as well some sort of advertising? hmmmmm, music of course and that will also change according to the kind of party and people. well, geez Juliet I think it's great taht youa re doing this....what a fun buisiness! ^_^
oh, decorating of course, hahaha you have many, many things to do, and they will be much fun. :D
I'll come back to see what others say. cool!

How awesome for you Juliet! Ok. I'd break it up into categories as to types of occasions. Example baby showers or wedding showers or parties for a graduation or anniversary, etc. Then under each category have things specific for that type of occasion. When I gave my sister her baby shower there were all kind of really neat party favors for the theme I chose. I went crazy with them. The theme was baby ducks and I found soap with little rubber duck in it and lotion with rubber ducks on the outside fo the bottle. I'd also start a list of computer links which I'm sure you've already thought of. I'm so happy for you! I hope that you have tons of success!

sorry sorry, forgot to add....I have made a small autograph notebook with kriish's snaps and i would ask all the guests to write something about him even one word is okay....i would keep it in his 'time capsule' box....for him to read later when he grows up

Beautiful Music would be one of my main issues. Food is really important. I have found that finger foods and desserts are most popular. Fruit, dips and raw vegetables are a great start. Cake is my favorite!! You have to have an amazing cake! Wine and cheese are wonderful as well. I hope this helps. I wish you well and God Bless, Lisa

Parties are my forte!
No 1 essential decide on the number of guests you will be comfortable catering for. Allow a couple extra because not everyone will come! Make sure of an RSVP date and if you haven't heard from a few you may have to do a ring around - essential for catering!
When you have the numbers decide on the type of party you will have. Could you cook a roast meal for 12, have a relaxed BBQ for 20 or can everyone just bring casseroles and share the load.
Is there to be a cake? Best choices are cakes that can be cooked ahead like mud cakes. If you are not a great cake maker make sure it is ordered ahead.
Organisation is the key! Pre-cook or prepare as early ahead as you can to save last minute work.
On the day of the party you want to have as least last minute things to do as you can so that you can enjoy the interaction with party go-ers!
Ooops! Didn't mention drinks? I prefer to go for punches, water, and an urn bubbling!
Enjoyed the chance to spread my party cheer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Oh I'm with Classy, you can't beat chocolate fountains. mm... maybe I'm just hungry? Well, here's my list - music, games (for adult parties and children’s parties) how about cocktails? *Grins* I think everyone has said everything else so I'm searching for new ideas. Oh DJ's? I might be back again later, I need to give it some thought. :) ~ Nixie

Hi Juliet! This is a great idea!
I'm an event manager by day so I thought I'd have something new to offer to the debate, but on reading all the other comments, I think it's nicely boxed off.
The only other things I can suggest if you're planning on operating a one stop party shop is that you might like to stock fancy dress costumes, glitter balls, a selection of entertainment contact details for example magicians, bouncing castles, blow up games etc.
You may also wish to post links to recipe pages on the net. Getting linked up to other similar businesses is an excellent way to increase your google rating. The more tags and links and posts on your site, the better.
Best of luck in this new venture!

Hiya JULIET, I came back again to share something I did for my son's birthday party recently at home.
1. Keep urself stress free and cheerful ...U SHOULD LOOK RELAXED and GREAT....IN THE BEST BRIGHT OUTFIT....everything else will fall in place....
2. if u are cooking urself, keep the menu very very simple and quantity also 'just right'...i cooked for 20 people though we had invited only 12 people. What a waste? I had to pack food for all of them to take home
3. Do have a great 'starter'...
4. Organic food have no added advantage as studies have proved...they are unnecessarily expensive....
5. Nic's idea about having a DJ is great....WHY NOT YOU TRY BEING THE DJ for the party? Talk to ur guests beforehand over phone about their fav numbers and make a list....collect them and play them randomly....but YOU should do it...would be so much fun
6. Last .....do make something for ur guests....anything ....a greeting card, a painting with thanks note .....i made oil pantings for the guests who came to the party and later sent all of them e-card expressing thanks from Kriish...i addressed to them as if Kriish is writing.....
Let me know buddy if this made any sense....i am apprehensive....

This article was never out of my mind...
I remembered one party and i want to share something special about that one...that may sound familiar though...
it was a party of my husband's boss's daughter's marriage...lol....
And they had a slide show on a screen next to the stage/dias and in that all the snaps and videos of both bride and groom since they were born till date, were being played...it was really cool....
and they had lots of flowers everywhere...everywhere...
I always find food as the main attraction too...i guess i am too much of a food lover....hee hee...
I love food...and i always remember a party by it's food...
if there is a small reminder or return gift kind of thing for all guests for any party, it would be really nice....it may a small card or a flower, or a small show piece, anything...just a token of thanks ....
