Dreaming of wolves
Fairytales comforting me
Whilst with them I hunt
Hiding in amongst the trees
Singing softly to nearby birds
Hold me safe and warm
If I venture out too far
Will I return to where I belong?
Faraway from the danger...
Dreaming of horses
With them I will run once more
Picking wild flowers
Riding these animals against the wind
My hair blowing back into my face
Eyes adjusting to the darkness
Trees speaking in their foreign language
Caring for one another
The storm is coming
Dreaming of swans
Swimming alongside them
Crowns high on their heads
Dappled in the moonlight
Flying away lightly
Aware of the build up of clouds
High among the darkness
My soul floating in between wings
Running to my home
(Thunder noses and rain)
Praying for a drop of sun
Strengthen my bones
Keep me alive a little longer
I don't want to die
I live on my dreams
