The MostImportant Thing Is To Be Able At Any Moment
To Sacrifice What We Are For What We Might Become
I'd like to think
what I'm about to do
is the bravest thing
I've put myself through,
but if I were brave
then, so you know,
I'd have told you
ten long months ago.
I got up this morning,
do you know the reason?
Do you know why i'm not
hibernating this season?
I know it's hardly
the perfect time,
and I know it sounds stupid
when spoken in rhyme,
but it's you that's the reason,
you're why I can't cope,
you're why I wake up,
just you and false hope,
which is really ironic,
but equally true,
because without hope or agenda
I say 'I love you,'
and I know this could ruin
the friendship we've got,
and it probably just did,
but at least now I'm not
standing alone,
in the dark and the rain,
waiting forever
for you to feel the same.
