26 June 2012

The vultures grin

And Watch

Eyes oiled for an answer to their prayer

And the Butcher takes his Cleaver

And Swirls it through the air

While the young dream on in the lair

Without an answer or a care

And the darkness hides my hauntedness

And Being Obvious hides my fears

And the World's forgiving blindness

Doesn't see my hopes and tears

But Hunger, I must

In love or in lust

In Faith or in Dust

I must have my Crust

Words gathered from mouths

Frozen in Eternity

As they scream and scheme

A way out of their Serenity

And when it comes the Vultures grin

Their oily eyes become dim

And Bloodsoaked they roam

Back to their Lair and their Home

And the Young become Older

And their Dreams become Bolder

As they take up their Posts

And Entertain their Hosts
