SITTING BY A TREE

" SITTING BY A TREE

WHILE SITTING BY A TREE

I WAS SET FREE

THE TREE HAD A STORY

ONE OF GREAT GLORY

THE AGE OF THE TREE WAS MANY YEARS

STILL STANDING STRONG THROUGH ALL THE STORMS AND FEARS

STRONG HAD GROWN IT'S BARK

STRONG ENOUGH TO BUILD NOAH'S ARK

THE TREE HAD MANY LEAVES AND VINES

EACH WITH A PUROSE DIVINE

EACH AND EVERY LEAF OF GREAT BEAUTY

EACH SET OUT WITH A SPECIFIC DUTY

AS EACH LEAF FALLS

IT HEARS IT'S SPECIFIC CALL

THE LEAF BEGINS TO FLOW WITH THE WIND

HOPING TO MANY IT'S LOVE AND BEAUTY TO SEND

THE LEAF FINDING IT'S WAY INTO THE HANDS OF A CHILD

HOLDING IT SO SOFTLY,SWEET AND MILD

LETTING IT GO; THE CHILD THREW THE LEAF TO THE GROUND

THE LEAF NOW HOPING TO ANOTHER IT SHALL BE FOUND

A LADY PICKS UP THE LEAF

DECIDING IT'S BEAUTY WOULD GO PERFECT IN HER REEF

THE REEF IS HANGING ON THE LADY'S DOOR

ON A HOUSE DOWN BY THE SHORE

THE WIND COMING BY TO BLOW THE LEAF UPON THE SAND

ONCE AGAIN THE LEAF LOOKING TO FIND ANOTHER'S HAND

A MAN NOW PICKING THE LEAF UP

DECIDING TO PUT IT IN HIS MURAL AROUND THE CUP

THE MURAL NOW HANGING ON A MUSEUM'S WALL

THE LEAF NOW FINDING IT'S TRUE PURPOSE AFTERALL"
