No Sanctuary

Poetry By: RichardCharlson

A political view point on the sate of the world (Not as boring as it sounds).

There's a darkness that encompasses the world

A place where no man can be more than he is

Where our children are nothing but sponges to be hurled

Into a world where they deserve more and get none

This is the plight of our age

But our times can change

For the greater good

Or we can let it rot and wane

And spiral out of control

Lose our grasp on reality

And become those we strike out against

These are seen as the problems of our leaders

But I see them as the problems of a free person

That can walk through a street without hurt

Or fear or pain holding them like a drunk with bourbon

Are these the words of a madman?

But who of you would let this happen?
