It's very hard to face life without my son.

He was troubled and he ended it all with a gun.

He came to me with his problems but I didn't listen to what he had to say.

I've cried myself to sleep every night since he went away.

He was very athletic and also very bright.

We were not close and that wasn't right.

A man never really knows what he has until it's gone.

It's frustrating when people tell me that it's darkest before the dawn.

If I could turn back time, I would be a better dad.

Now the pain and guilt is killing me and I'm so sad.

Again, a very sweet poem. Even though this is a fictional poem, I could feel true feeling radiating off of it :)
