I Can Still Hear It

Even if things vanish I can still completely hear them... And I hope that you can too.

Things vanish

disappear

both the good

and bad things

Sometims vanquished

from sigh

but I can still hear it.

I can hear the

church bells ringing

from my times of prayer.

I can still hear

the carolers singing

at christmas eve

bringing joy to the neighbors.

Even though its gone now

I can still hear it.

Even the things

that I have never

heard before

I can still hear it.

I can still hear it,

the victims of the

Holocaust,

groaning in the cars.

I can still hear it,

the bells of Santa's sleigh,

from my childhood.

I can still hear it,

Martin Luther Kind Jr.'s

speech,

and the crowd's

cheers after it.

I can still hear it,

the laugter from my

childhood,

that come back often

anyway.

I can still hear it

the shots of the

first fires

that started our independence.

I can still hear the

cries

giggles

smiles

moments

that will never

quite leave me.

But the one thing

I can hear most clear,

I can still hear it,

you loving me -

and I'm surprised

that I can still hear it

or that you ever stopped.
